Wo Long Fallen Dynasty is the latest game from the creators of Nioh. Just like their previous game, you can expect Wo Long to be extremely difficult, especially for new players. The gameplay can be quite unforgiving since enemies are strong and deal a lot of damage.

Plus, the game does not hold your hand which can be quite difficult for players that are used to playing games like Horizon or God of War. If you want to know how to change the difficulty in Wo Long, continue reading to find out.

Wo Long Fallen Dynasty: How to Change Difficulty

Unfortunately, you cannot change the difficulty on your first playthrough. Like other Souls games, the difficulty is standard and players have to adjust accordingly. Some enemies can be quite tough while others are easy to deal with.

To “make the difficulty lower”, you will have to practice deflecting/dodging and learn the attack pattern of the enemies. In short, you need to get good by playing the game – as simple as that sounds.

However, once you beat the game once, you will unlock the Rising Dragon difficulty. This makes all the enemies stronger but also gives you better – and rarer – loot. You can only get 5-star gear if you are playing on the Rising Dragon difficulty.

If you want to “lower the difficulty” you can grind through the stages and increase your overall Fortitude and Morale. This will allow you to deal more damage and take less damage as well. Just keep in mind that both these stats reset at the start of the next stage.

Conclusion

That’s everything you need to know about how to change the difficulty in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty. Since you cannot lower the difficulty, you will have to adjust according to the game and get better at it. Once you beat it, you can increase the difficulty to get better loot.
