A new hotfix is available on PC and consoles that supposedly fixes performance issues. We are hoping that a regular supply of patches might bring the game to a more polished state.
Fixing the ‘Cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined’ crash
CD Projekt Red has deployed the 1.04 hotfix and you can read the complete patch notes here.
Even though it was deployed to fix some crashes and improve stability, multiple users have confirmed they are running into a flatline crash during the game, after which it doesn’t launch at all.
Thankfully, you can fix this by following the steps below.
- Locate Cyberpunk 2077 in your Steam library, and right-click on it
- Click on Properties, and open the LOCAL FILES tab
- Here, select VERIFY INTEGRITY OF LOCAL FILES
This will start a verification process, and possibly start a download. Be patient, and allow the verification process to complete, and for it to download the necessary files.
After the game has been fully verified and updated, you can launch it again, without running into the flatlined crash. Various users on Steam forums have confirmed that simply verifying their files has worked out for them.
