Remnant 2 is finally out on PC for players that pre-ordered its deluxe or ultimate editions. This is one of the best releases of the year, and you can check out my detailed thoughts in the review. The PC port though, isn’t exactly in the best shape right now, and the controller support is a bit lacking too, and if you’re running into any Remnant 2 controller issues, here is how to fix those.
Fixing the Remnant 2 Controller Issues
Based on my testing, Xbox controllers have native profiles available for the game, while PlayStation controllers don’t. There aren’t even prompts for PlayStation buttons here, and you can’t switch to those either.
Enable Steam Input
By default, Steam Input should be enabled for you, but in case it isn’t you won’t be able to use PlayStation controllers.
- Make sure the game isn’t running
- Open Steam and then open your Library
- Here, right-click on Remnant 2
- Select Properties
- Now, select CONTROLLER at the left
- Click the dropdown icon next to Override for Remnant 2
- Set it to “Enable Steam Input“
Use a Wired Connection for PlayStation Controllers
In addition to enabling Steam Input, make sure to use a wired connection while you’re playing with a Dual Shock 4 or DualSense controller.
Check Detected Controllers (Steam)
Make sure your controllers are actually showing up in Steam too.
- Click on Steam at the top left corner of the client, and select Settings
- Now, click on Controller in the list at the left
- Your connected controllers will show up under “Controller” as shown below.
