Street Fighter 6 is the latest entry in the long-running fighting game franchise from CAPCOM. The title is out now on last, and current-generation consoles as well as PC. Like the recent string of excellent PC ports by CAPCOM, Street Fighter 6 is no different and runs exceptionally well on a wide variety of systems. There are some technical issues that players can run into, however, which is to be expected with a new launch. Here are a few recommendations to fix the Street Fighter 6 crash at launch issue.
Verify Game Files
The first thing you need to ensure is that the game files are in perfect order. It isn’t uncommon for something to go wrong during the download or installation process, which can result in broken game files. To address this, you can verify the files in Steam, and re-download anything broken or missing.
- Open Steam and navigate to your library
- Right-click on Street Fighter 6 in your library
- Click Properties
- Select the LOCAL FILES/Installed Files tab
- Click on Verify Integrity of local files…

Update Your Windows Media Player Codecs
Some cutscenes and videos in-game use the necessary Windows video codecs to play. A few versions of Windows don’t come with these codes by default so you’ll need to manually download those. You can download the Media Feature Pack officially from the following Microsoft link:
Update DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables
Ensure that both DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables are on the latest version.
