If you are running into the Trek to Yomi crash at launch issue, here are a few things you can do to fix that.
Fixing the Trek to Yomi crash at launch issue
Trek to Yomi ran very well for me, and throughout my entire playthrough, I don’t recall running into any issues. There were times when the screen would zoom in a bit while I had DSR enabled, but there weren’t any problems when it came to stability. Some users have reported a crash at launch, however, so if you’re one of those, here are a few things you can try.
Verify Game Files
Trek to Yomi is out on both Steam and Xbox Game Pass for PC. At times, during the download or installation process, game files can get corrupted. Thankfully, both clients allow PC users to verify their game files, and you can do so by following the steps below.
Steam
- Open Steam, and navigate to your library
- Right-click on Trek to Yomi in your library and click Properties
- Select the LOCAL FILES tab
- Click on Verify Integrity of local files…
This will initiate a scanning process by Steam, and any missing, or corrupted files will be downloaded and installed. For most users, this will fix the problem.
Xbox App for PC
If you are playing this through Game Pass, you can verify files as well.
- Launch the Xbox App
- In the right, under INSTALLED, click on the three dots next to Trek to Yomi
- Select Manage
- Select the FILES tab, and then click on VERIFY AND REPAIR under Options
Manually update your GPU Drivers
If you haven’t updated your graphics drivers in a while, it’s probably a good idea to update those. You can find the latest ones for your respective GPU below.
Update DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables
Ensure that both DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables are on the latest version.
