Trek to Yomi is a cinematic action-adventure game from Leonard Menchiari, Flying Wild Hog, and Devolver Digital. To read my thoughts on it, make sure to check out my review. Based on my experience, Trek to Yomi runs very well, and I don’t recall running into any noteworthy issues. However, ultrawide users might find the support lacking. If you want to fix the Trek to Yomi Ultrawide Issue with black bars, here is how you can fix that.
Fixing the Trek to Yomi Ultrawide issue
Trek to Yomi is developed on the Unreal Engine 4, and you can actually use the UUEU (Universal Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker) to workaround some ultrawide issues. Thankfully, you don’t need to go through that, and we have Rose from the widescreen community to thank again. They have released an easy-to-use patch that will allow you to experience Trek to Yomi properly on an ultrawide monitor.
To install it, follow the steps below.
- Head over to the following Github link
- Based on your version (Steam or Game Pass), download the respective zip file at the bottom of the page under Assets
- Now, extract the file in the following game locations based on your version. Use Winrar or 7zip to extract the zip files
Game Pass
\Ronin\Binaries\WinGDK\
Steam
\Ronin\Binaries\Win64\
That is all you need to do, and the next time you launch the game, black bars will be removed and the FOV will be dynamically corrected at 32:9 and wider.
Here is a screenshot with the game running at an ultrawide resolution.
