Zonai Devices are new in Tears of the Kingdom, and they are extremely crucial to the game. They completely change how you play the game and give the players a lot of freedom. That is why this guide will show you how to use a Zonai Device in Tears of the Kingdom.
To avoid spoilers, we will not talk about the Zonai Devices that you get later in the game. Instead, we will mention the first one you get early in the game. With that said, let’s dive right in and get started.
How to Use the Fan Zonai Device
After completing the second Shrine and heading over to the third one, you will come across a Steward Construct. It will give you an Energy Cell and tell you to go further ahead to know what it does. Keep in mind that this cell is vital if you want to use the Zonai Devices so make sure that you collect it.
Once you have the cel and have made your way across the nearby cave, you will come across a few Maker Constructs. They will explain how the Zonai Device work and what you need for it. Plus, they are kind enough to allow you to take the items next to the river.
So, go ahead and use Ultrahand to make a raft as you did for the second Shrine. However, this time around, you will not find a sail nearby. Instead, you will have to use Ultrahand to attach a fan to the back of the raft and make a hovercraft.
Depending on how fast you want to go, you can attach more fans to the hovercraft. To make a basic one, you need to attach three logs together and attach a fan at the back. Then, place the hovercraft in the lake and jump on it.
Once you are in position, hit the fan to turn it on. Keep in mind that this consumes energy and you’ll have to turn it off by hitting it again to regenerate energy. Later in the game, you can find more cells to increase the total amount of energy so that you can use Zonai Devices without any issues.
Once you reach the other side of the lake, hit the fan again to turn it off and jump off the hovercraft. Then, you can progress toward the third Shrine without any problems.
Make sure that you experiment with the Zonai Devices to see what else you can make. Since you can use Ultrahand to attach them to anything, the possibilities are endless. As you can see in the image above, I attached a Zonai fan to a cart to boost myself on the rails.
Without the Zonai fan, this cart would never move on these rails and gone up the mountain. So, try out different stuff because there are so many unique things that you can create.
