Icarus is an upcoming survival game from the creator of DayZ, Dean Hall, and Rocketwerkz. It is a session-based game and features both solo and co-op modes. While it is fundamentally PvE in nature, up to 8 players can join you in your survival adventure, as you race to survive, learn and explore. The title was first shown back in 2020 and is coming to PC for now. Here are the Icarus System Requirements from the Steam listing.
This is a fairly ambitious survival title and one that seems to take the ideas from DayZ even further. It is slated for this year at the moment, but given how various 2021 titles are pushed to 2022, we wouldn’t be surprised if this is delayed as well.
Icarus System Requirements
Here are the requirements for the upcoming title
Icarus Minimum Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
- Processor: Intel i5 8400
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1060
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 70 GB available space
Icarus Recommended Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
- Processor: Intel i9-9900K
- Memory: 32 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 3060ti
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 70 GB available space
These requirements have been revealed through the Steam page, and give us a good idea of what to expect. However, AMD hardware isn’t listed in either the CPU or GPU requirements, though equivalent hardware isn’t hard to deduce. The GTX 1060 is closer to an RX 580, while the 3060ti is more or less equivalent to a 6700 XT.
When it comes to CPUs, we can expect AMD users with Ryzen 5 processors to be a safe bet when it comes to minimum requirements. We will get a better idea when people get access to the Beta, and see what the optimization is like on Intel and AMD.
The 32 GB RAM requirement is a bit on the higher side, but this might just be the new standard for PC titles in the coming years. 70 GB of disk space is becoming pretty normal with bigger releases, so that was expected.
Icarus on Steam
At the moment, interested gamers can pre-order the Standard or Deluxe edition through Steam. Anyone that pre-orders the title will get access to the bi-weekly beta.
