From the creators of XCOM and Civilizations comes a new tactical game centered around card game mechanics and strategy. The excitement of the new release has left a lot of fans wondering whether or not we can expect to see Marvel’s Midnight Suns on Xbox Game Pass or not?

The game allows you to assemble your team of iconic characters from Marvel and suit up to defeat a demonic power from destroying the world as you know it.

The game is set to release on December 2nd, 2022, and will be coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Swift (2023).

Will We See Marvel’s Midnight Suns on Xbox Game Pass?

No, Marvel’s Midnights Suns won’t be coming to Xbox Game Pass. This is because the publishers, 2K, don’t have a tendency of adding titles to the subscription service.

Players wanting to play the new RPG game from Firaxis (the creators of XCOM and Civilisations) will need to purchase any one of the editions on the available platforms.

While Marvel’s Midnight Suns was developed by Firaxis, the publisher, 2K, doesn’t have a good track record with adding games to Xbox Game Pass.

The American video game publisher is well known, publishing titles such as BioShock, Tiny Tina’s Wonderland, Borderlands, and the NBA and WWE 2k series. However, they’re also known for not adding their games to Xbox’s subscription service.

The History of 2K Games on Game Pass

If we look at 2 K’s track record of pushing games to Xbox Game Pass, we’ll not likely see Marvel’s Midnight Suns added to the service. This is because the publishers have only released a few games to Game Pass over the past years.

For example, NBA 2K22 was officially released on September 10th, 2021 but only made its way to Game Pass in April 2022. Then, only a couple of months later (at the end of August 2022), the game was benched and removed from the library of titles.

It’s not irregular for games to leave Xbox Game Pass as most contracts are temporary, and all major 3rd party games leave the platform eventually. In fact, games such as Subnautica and Final Fantasy XIII-2 are on the list of games to leave the service in November 2022.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns – A New Tactical RPG

Marvel’s Midnight Suns add a new and refreshing take to tactical RPG games. Its card-based mechanics bring a battle system that rewards players for building relationships with team members and clever thinking.

As Hunter, a demon slayer, the player must pull together a team of heroes to act as the last line of defense against Marvel’s darker side. The demonic forces of Lilith threaten to throw the world into chaos and despair unless you, and your team of seasoned superheroes, can stop her.

The game blends cinematic action scenes with strategic game mechanics to immerse the player in a story of family, magic, mystery, and demons.

Final Thoughts

While all evidence points to Marvel’s Midnight Suns not being on Game Pass, it doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Depending on the game’s success, we might see Marvel’s latest game on Xbox Game Pass in a year or two. Until then, you’ll need to fork out or sit tight.
