It seems that the highly anticipated sequel to the 2017 new IP from Nintendo and Ubisoft finally has a release date. After a lot of waiting and patience, fans will be glad to know that the release date for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope leaked was leaked by the Ubisoft Store early, ahead of a speculated Ubisoft announcement set for the 29th of June.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Leaked
According to an early store listing on the Ubisoft Brazil Store, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope has a release date of October 20th, 2022. With Nintendo also have a mini-direct tomorrow, there is also speculation that Ubisoft will host a minor show where they planned on announcing the release date for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope for the Nintendo Switch during the conference.
You can see the screenshot above shows a release date and this does come as a pleasant surprise for fans of the XCOM-like shooter returning on the Nintendo console, which despite being a new genre and new IP for Nintendo and Ubisoft, performed well enough to earn a sequel on the console.
While we still have to wait for Ubisoft or Nintendo to cement a release date publicly, a release date this specific on the developer’s own website is pretty conclusive evidence and could suggest that this will be the final release date until the rumored presentation from Ubisoft on the 29th of June.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope takes the crew to the reaches of space, and will also introduce a slew of new mechanics, new heroes, and villains, and if you are excited about trying the game out, a 2022 release date is something you can definitely look forward to.
