Persona 5, and Persona 5 Royal were for the longest time, only available on the PS4. The game bolstered a lot of new features and was easily one of the best new Persona games that fans got to play after a very long time. Unfortunately, it seems that players with PS4 saves will have to start over on the PS5 as it won’t be possible to share saves with your Persona 5 Royal PS5 Save.
Persona 5 Royal PS5 Save – A Great Mistake
Persona 5 Royal is headed to the Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC, and Nintendo Switch for the first time since its initial release in 2017, and the release of Royal in 2019 for the PS4.
Many fans are undoubtedly ecstatic on the console exclusivity taking almost half a decade to come to and end, but fans looking to enjoy a smooth ride from PS4 to PS5 will be thoroughly disappointed.
If you currently own a PS5 and had a sizeable PS4 library, you would be familiar with how there is support for the ability to transfer your saves and trophies between the two consoles. Unfortunately, it looks like Persona 5 Royal on PS5 will not be availing this feature.

This effectively means you will be unable to carry over your progress or be able to unlock any trophies in the game. This means you will have to play Persona 5 Royal on PS5 with a clean slate.
While a lot of first-party, and third-party developers did make the feature possible for players to carry saves between the two consoles, Atlus may hit a nerve with fans when the game does release later in October 2022.
Persona 5 Royal is headed to the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series on October 21st, with the title coming on GamePass too.
