We are all excited for Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart, that is set to release later this year on June 11th, exclusively for the PS5. However, if you still haven’t played any Ratchet & Clank game at all, you might get your chance very soon. The 2016 title will be free to download for the whole month of March 2021.

Early in 2020, PlayStation did the Stay At Home initiative when the pandemic first began. It gave players games to download for free on the PS4 to keep themselves pre-occupied amidst the lockdown that occurred.
In April 2020, Sony gave players Journey and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection to keep and play for good, after that the offerings stopped.
The program is back once more, and has a date for the whole of March. Between March 1st and March 31st, players can download and permanently keep Ratchet & Clank to their PlayStation collection.
Considering this is the year we will also see a new entry to the series, the latest offering seems very befitting to the cause.
Ratchet and Clank is easily one of Sony’s most beloved IP’s. While it doesn’t have the acclaim or the accolades held by other massive IP’s like God of War, it is right along the latter with both having their first games start on the PS2 and have always had entry’s on consoles and handhelds that followed.
The 2016 title is full of fun action, a great cast of characters and a memorable story, and if you plan on buying the upcoming new entry to the series, A Rift Apart for your PS5, it is definitely worth playing it to help you decide if the game is something you would enjoy.
While Sony is only offering one free game this time instead of the usual two, it is still a great title that can be enjoyed by gamers of any age as the game itself is very entertaining.
