Remnant 2 is finally out on PC if you pre-ordered the ultimate edition. The title has currently launched without cloud saves, which is a bummer for people that might want to switch between systems. If you’re on PC and want to back up your data though, here is the Remnant 2 save file location.
Remnant 2 Save File Location
To access your save data, follow the addresses below, either directly or through Windows Run.
Steam
You can get the save files from the following location if you’ve downloaded the game using Steam.
C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\Saved Games\Remnant2\Steam\
This will take you to the saves folder for Remnant 2.
Make sure to back these up before you make any changes.
Faster Navigation
To quickly navigate to these locations, I recommend using Windows Run.
- Open Windows Run by either pressing Windows + R keys together or by searching for it in Windows Search
- Enter the following address, and press OK
Steam
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Remnant2\Steam\
If you’re running into any crashing issues, make sure to check out my detailed guide to address those. Additionally, if you can’t get your Xbox or PlayStation controller to work you can read up on how to fix that here.
We hope this guide was helpful and you were able to access the Remnant 2 save file location. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments below.
There used to be a method with the first Remnant by which you could change your character’s appearance after their initial customization by editing profile.sav. I’m trying to do that now following the original method but Remnant 2’s profile.sav file appears to be either encrypted, or not reading properly in Notepad++.
Can I use a different program to read the file, or is there some decryption method that would work here?
Hey!
I’m not sure about that, but you’re right, the sav file is encrypted. It might be possible to use a Hex Editor, but I’m not sure how to go about that. Sorry! Maybe a mod will address this.
