After a lot of waiting, Capcom has finally shown off some fresh gameplay for Resident Evil 4 Remake in an extended gameplay trailer. We take a look back at the events that start off Leon’s adventure but there have been some creative liberties taken along the way on the journey as well.
Resident Evil 4 Remake trailer is beautiful
We finally have a look at the latest Resident Evil 4 Remake trailer, and it is a game that truly works great with the remake trend that Capcom is ambitiously doing. Leon is as nimble as ever, with the addition of being able to crouch, parry attacks, and even stab enemies with a knife which was a new mechanic introduced in the earlier Resident Evil remake games.
In addition to the extended gameplay trailer, we also got a look at a new story trailer that shows us a first look at infected Ashley. This could mean that the story could also be taking a different shift and may not be a 1:1 remake of the original after all.
A new feature that was also introduced in the gameplay trailer is how Leon can now craft ammo, and being able to trade jewels with the merchant for bonus items. Previously you could sell the precious jewels or items to the merchant for Pesos, but it’s good to get an upgrade.

The game looks absolutely spectacular, and after almost 2 decades, this is easily a game that does deserve the remake treatment. It has gotten a lot of improvements along the way, and it really can bring one of the most beloved Resident Evil Games to a modern standard.
In addition, pre-orders for the game are now open on the relevant stores, and it was also announced that the PS4 version of the game would get the PS5 upgrade for free, which is keeping up with Capcom’s trends of giving the next-gen version free to current owners. A practice we previously saw with RE2, RE3 Remake, and Resident Evil 7.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is set to release for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on March 24th, 2023.
