Aspyr officially announced the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection during the recent Nintendo Direct and it includes the classic Battlefront titles from the PS2. These modern releases include all bonus content, multiplayer, and expansions to Hero Assault mode. However, does the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection have crossplay? Here is everything we know so far.
Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection Crossplay Support?
No, the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection does not support crossplay between platforms, and there hasn’t been any announcement to confirm that it does.
Update 7th March 2024: Also confirmed by Aspyr Support. Only Cross-generation multiplayer is available. Courtesy of the Battlefront Subreddit.
The collection does have support for cross-generation multiplayer, but that’s limited to the console’s ecosystem. This means that PS4 and PS5 users can play with each other, but not outside their console family. The following is from the PlayStation Blog.
We’re excited to announce that cross-gen multiplayer is supported, so whether you’re playing on PlayStation 4 or PlaySation 5, get ready to jump in.
Additionally, the store pages for the PC (Steam), and Xbox versions don’t have the cross-platform multiplayer tag even though it’s available for pre-order.
The developers or publisher haven’t outright said it doesn’t have crossplay yet, so there’s a chance that they might announce it. In that case, we’ll update the article, but as it stands, cross-generation support is confirmed.
