Microsoft has just announced the revision of one of its oldest services that date back to the launch of the original Xbox. Xbox Live will soon get a rebranding and be merged into the Game Pass family under the name of Game Pass Core. It will be the cheapest possible option but will still offer some good benefits.
Xbox Game Pass Core Is Coming
on their blog, Microsoft has announced all of the details we need to know about Xbox Game Pass Core. This is going to be the rebranding of Xbox Live and its integration into the Game Pass family, something that has been long overdue.
Among the benefits, players will be able to get all of the benefits of Xbox Live Gold, mainly being able to play games online, member deals and discounts, but new to the plan is access to 25 games, with new games added 2-3 times a year.
The launch lineup will include the following titles:
- Among Us
- Descenders
- Dishonored 2
- Doom Eternal
- Fable Anniversary
- Fallout 4
- Fallout 76
- Forza Horizon 4
- Gears 5
- Grounded
- Halo 5: Guardians
- Halo Wars 2
- Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
- Human Fall Flat
- Inside
- Ori & The Will of the Wisps
- Psychonauts 2
- State of Decay 2
- The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
The new change will take place on September 14th, and Xbox Live Gold members will not need to do anything to facilitate the change, it will be done by Microsoft. Games with Gold will also come to an end on September 1st. Any previously redeemed Games with Gold games from the Xbox 360 and Xbox One will still remain in your ownership.
This could also potentially spell the end of the trick where people used Xbox Live Gold cards to get Game Pass Ultimate for cheap that was recently hit with a nerf.
