The 5-star Anemo bow user named Venti of Genshin Impact was the first promotional character of the game, appearing in Ver. 1.0 wish banner ”Ballad in Goblets.” For players who were unlucky or just not around during the run of his original banner, our ”tone-deaf bard” was another worthy pull during the game’s Ver. 1.4. Besides being the Anemo Archon underneath his cheerful disguise, Venti functions as a Sub-DPS or Support to your party with his unparalleled crowd control.
Now, thanks to the double banner feature, Venti is back for the game’s Ver. 2.6 together with the new 5-star Hydro sword user Kamisato Ayato. The 4-star characters joining the Anemo Archon on his third run are Anemo catalyst user Sucrose, Pyro polearm user Xiangling, and Geo polearm user Yun Jin. With this awesome character line-up, you’ll definitely want to pull on this limited-time event banner!
With that, we prepared the best Genshin Impact Venti build for players who patiently waited for his re-run! Whether you’re F2P or a devoted ’whale,’ read on for the Anemo Archon’s Ascension and Talent Materials, Talents, Constellations, Playstyles, Best Weapons, and Best Artifacts!

Venti’s Talents
As mentioned before, Venti‘s will serve your team compositions excellently. His passive talents aid in exploration: Holding (we will talk about this in upcoming sections), his Elemental Skill creates an upcurrent, allowing you to reach high-up places by flight. At higher ascension levels, your team’s gliding stamina consumption is reduced as well. Also, Venti refunds some energy to himself and another party member after using his burst.
Venti’s Passive Talents
Embrace of Winds
Holding Skyward Sonnet creates an upcurrent that lasts for 20s.
Stormeye
Regenerates 15 Energy for Venti after the effects of Wind’s Grand Ode end. If an Elemental Absorption occurs, this also restores 15 Energy to all characters of that corresponding element.
Windrider
Decreases gliding Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%. Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.
This passive can help travelers make longer journeys by air, note, traveler; this passive doesn’t stack. This means having Venti, Amber, and Collei on your team will not make your flights seamless.
Venti’s Combat Talents and Playstyles
The Archon’s skillset works best as a Burst Support and Sub-DPS. Given that he wields Anemo, he serves as excellent support to characters wielding Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro. This pairing maximizes the in-game Elemental Absorption mechanic that can deal continuous Elemental DMG to enemies.
Venti’s Elemental Skill
Venti’s Elemental Skill, Skyward Sonnet, has two unique versions. Tapping or pressing his E Skill deals AoE Anemo DMG at the opponents’ location by summoning a Wind Domain. This can even launch small enemies like hilichurls and samachurls in the air.
On the other hand, holding his E Skill will summon a larger Wind Domain on Venti’s location. Nearby opponents will also deal AoE Anemo DMG as Venti floats into the air. From his 1st Ascension Passive, holding this talent will also create a 20-second upcurrent.
If you want to have a makeshift Xiao for plunging attacks, the upcurrent from Venti’s E SKill is highly beneficial. You can also save a little stamina from climbing with this. This talent provides mobility to your party for both combat and exploration.
Venti’s Elemental Burst
Barbatos incarnate’s Elemental Burst, Wind’s Grand Ode, will summon a Stormeye or vacuum field. This talent sucks in and renders small opponents hovering while dealing Anemo DMG for 8 seconds. Elemental Absorption can occur here once the Stormeye comes in contact with a non-Anemo element. This can be from an enemy, party character, or environment with an inflicted or natural elemental status. For some reason, Xiangling’s Guoba and Amber’s Baron Bunny can prompt an Elemental Absorption.
If you’re running a team composition with Venti, you can try this simple attack sequence.
- Use your characters’ buffs (ATK, Elemental Mastery, Elemental DMG Bonus)
- Unleash Venti’s Burst near enemies. If opponents are widely dispersed, try to lure them all towards the same direction and/or position the Burst at the enemies’ epicenter.
- Swap to your DPS characters and use their Bursts and E Skills to make reactions.
- Swap back to Venti and use his E Skill to gather energy.
Venti’s Constellations
Constellation Lv.1
Splitting Gales
The following DMG comparison shows the significant power difference between a charged shot C0 and C1 Venti. Few players will find themselves using it, though, since Venti’s kit and overall useability depend on the character’s Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst.
Constellation Lv.2
Breeze of Reminiscence
Venti‘s C2 is exceptional, lighter enemies like Hilichurls and Treasure Hoarders that can be swept away with Skyward Sonnet suffer 24% Anemo and Physical DMG resistance shred, while heavier enemies like Ruin Guards and Bosses have their Anemo and Physical DMG resistance reduced by 12%.
Constellation Lv.3 + Lv.5
Ode to Thousand Winds + Concerto dal Cielo
A character’s C3 and C5 upgrade the unit’s Elemental Skill and Burst, sometimes. I.e., Venti‘s C3 empowers his Burst, and C5, his skill. Most characters follow the opposite trend, which, as we are sure the traveler has gathered already, C3 upgrades the Skill, and C5, the Burst.
Constellation Lv.4
Hurricane of Freedom
Anemo DMG boost for the Anemo Archon? Check.
Constellation Lv.6
Storm of Defiance
Similar to Venti’s C2, which proceed a resistance shred when activating his skill, Venti‘s C6 strengthens his burst to above ludicrous levels.
Weapons
Many players have agreed that the 4-star bow The Stringless, especially at Refinement Rank 5, is the best weapon for Venti in terms of consistent damage output. The Elemental Mastery substat is beneficial in making elemental reactions like Swirl and others once the Elemental Absorption kicks in. Furthermore, the bow’s Passive has zero conditions so you’re sure to deal amplified damage. Support or DPS Venti will benefit from this powerful weapon.
If you want to equip the Anemo Archon with his original weapon, then you can test your luck on the Standard Banner for Skyward Harp. This is ideal if you use Venti as a DPS due to its Crit Rate subtat and Crit DMG Passive. Overall, you will be dealing a ton of damage with its high base ATK as a 5-star weapon.
For support Venti, you can wish for the promotional bow Elegy for the End. Its Energy Recharge (ER) substat will allow you to spam Venti’s burst. Moreover, it also increases his Elemental Mastery (EM) by 60 and buffs nearby party members’ EM by 100 and ATK by 20% for 12 seconds.
You can also opt for Sacrificial Bow or Favonius Warbow if you rely on Venti’s Stormeye for crowd control. If you’re not sure which to use, this detailed weapon guide from Xlice will show you how each bow works for Venti.
Artifacts
The artifacts and stats best suited for Venti vary depending on how you will use him, the weapon he has, and the team composition he’s in.
The classic support or DPS build is the 4-piece set of Viridescent Venerer, which will increase his Swirl DMG and reduce enemies’ Elemental RES to the Swirl-infused element. The 2-piece set also gives him 15% Anemo DMG Bonus.
If you’re leaning towards using Venti as a DPS, then equipping a 2-piece set of Gladiator’s Finale for an ATK increase and another 2-piece set of Viridescent Venerer for an Anemo DMG increase is ideal. As a DPS, you can prioritize ATK, Anemo DMG, and Crit Rate or Crit DMG for your sands, goblet, and circlet, respectively.
For full-blown Burst support, a 4-piece set of Noblesse Oblige is the way to go. This will increase his Elemental Burst DMG and temporarily buff all party members’ ATK. It’s best that you prioritize Venti’s EM and ER with this.
Venti’s Teams
The first team, featuring Ganyu, Venti, Mona, and Diona is Barbatos’ best team to date. It utilizes the concept of Permafreeze, as the name suggests, trapping your opponent in a never-ending layer of ice.
Using Diona to shield and apply Cryo, Venti‘s burst to group enemies, and Mona’s skill and burst to apply Hydro and buff your team. Followed up by Ganyu (arguably the best DPS character in the game) to barrage your enemies with her charged shots, skill, and burst should completely Freeze and erase all traces of any mortals foolish enough to confront you in battle. It is important to note that, Diona and Ganyu’s resonance buffs your team’s CRIT Rate by 15%.
The second team, composed of the strongest Anemo DPS, Xiao, Venti, the game’s only 6-star character, Bennett, and the Geo Archon, Zhongli, makes good use of Xiao‘s burst, which is notorious for knocking away enemies.
After using Benny, Venti, Zhongli, and Xiao’s bursts and skills (in that order) should make way for some hefty punishment for the hilichurls!
The third team, harboring the original Pyro DPS, Diluc, Xingqiu, Bennett, and Venti, allows for easier burst shots for Diluc, whose wide AoE burst can occasionally target the smallest group of enemies, completely ignoring the meatier bunch.
Xingqiu and Diluc work together splendidly; Xingqiu applies Hydro from of-field, dealing insane DMG via the Vaporise reaction. Furthermore, Bennett and Diluc‘s resonance can buff your party’s ATK, making way for even stronger attacks.
