Welcome folks! Today, we are going to be discussing Cyno, The newest character released in the second half of update 3.1. We will be talking about how to build Cyno: his Ascension and Talent materials/costs, giving recommendations and thoughts on Talents, constellations, artifacts, weapons, and team comps. As always, we will begin with an introduction to the unit.
Cyno, Titled ” Judicator of Secrets”, is Sumeru Akademiya’s General Mahamatra. He is a 5-star Electro Polearm user—his kit points towards his role as a DPS character.
A Summary
Cyno‘s main focus abilities are his Skill and Burst: These abilities work well with each other to do extra DMG with, providing reduced CDs and passive ability DMG. Travelers are recommended to build Cyno, making use of both Elemental Mastery and ATK pieces of the Gilded Dreams artifact set. The White Tassel 3-star weapon at high refinement is very good for Cyno.

Cyno’s Elemental Skill and Burst
A jump and forward dash attack. This ability is used differently when Cyno is in the Pactsworn Pathclearer state, it also takes up a different name: Mortuary Rite.
The player is recommended to upgrade this ability AFTER they’ve invested in Cyno‘s burst.
Upon activation, Cyno enters the Pactsworn Pathclearer state.
Cyno’s Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks are converted into Electro DMG that cannot be overridden.
- Cyno’s Elemental Mastery and resistance to interruption will increase, and he gains immunity to Electro–Charged DMG.
This effect will be canceled when Cyno leaves the field and lasts a maximum of 18s.
Pause…
A brief note is necessary here.. C0 Cyno is an amazing unit. Please do not feel forced to roll for a character’s constellations. They are nice to have and can boost the effectiveness of a character but they aren’t worth spending real-world currency on unless you have a large reserve of expendable income.
However, if you do end up getting more constellations, congratulations! Let us get you familiar with Cyno Stella Fortuna.

Cyno’s Best Stats on Artifact Sets
A good, balanced stat build for Cyno would include CRIT Rate/DMG (in a 1:2 ratio) on your circlet. An Electro DMG % goblet and an Elemental Mastery main stat on your sands.
A complete EM build could also work if you’re using the beastly Staff of Scarlet Sands weapon. That is, EM circlet, goblet, and sands.

Cyno’s Best Teams
Cyno will be your team’s main source of DMG. So, it is important to craft teams around this role, thinking about any Sub DPS or Support/Utility roles. Of course, it is also necessary to keep in mind the artifact and weapon build you’re running on Cyno. With that out of the way, let us give you our team/unit recommendations!
If you’re equipping the Gilded Dreams set, it will benefit you to choose at least one other Electro Battery to ensure Cyno is gaining Energy when attacking. Characters like Raiden Shogun or Fischl at c6 can fill in this role swimmingly. You can even gain some extra DPS using these two insanely powerful characters.
To consistently proc the Quicken and Aggravate reactions, a Dendro character like the traveler or Collei will work excellently, even more so, considering that their Dendro application abilities can work from off-field.
Your fourth character can be any support, to be honest. Kokomi could work wonders in your team, consistently applying off-field Hydro and proccing Electrocharged and Hyperbloom reactions.
Bennett is just universally good, slap on the Noblesse set and an Energy Recharge sword and there you have the most broken support character in the entire game!
Zhongli can apply an unbreakable shield, summon a powerful burst, and, shred your opponents’ Elemental Resistance, making him a viable 4th character as well.
Kazuha works too!
We highly, highly encourage the player to try out their own variants and combinations of teams, playstyles, artifact sets and whatnot. Our articles exist to guide, not to bind the player when making their decisions!
