Stardew Valley is widely regarded as one of the best farming games. Anyone who’s played it for a few hours would know that the game owes a considerable portion of its success to the plethora of characters it offers. On that front, Abigail in Stardew Valley is one of the weirdest characters you’ll come across!

Background

Abigail standing at the entrance of Pierre's General Store

Abigail is undoubtedly an eye-catching individual considering the type of things she likes. She projects an extreme “goth girl” persona and, as such – loves the dark and isolation. She lives with her parents, Pierre and Caroline, in the Pierre’s General Store next to Harvey’s Clinic. Her room can be found at the top-left side of the house, right behind Pierre’s shop. Like Elliott, Abigail is included in the 12-marriage-eligible Villagers of Stardew Valley.

A massive amount of controversy is involved in determining who Abigail’s actual parents are. Several in-game dialogues with Abigail, Caroline, and the Wizard point to the conclusion that she might be the Wizard’s daughter! Her “father,” Pierre, also hints towards this possibility in one of his dialogues once you reach a high enough friendship level with him.

Nevertheless, all of this remains as conjecture, and officially, Abigail remains the daughter of Pierre and Caroline. She considers Sebastian and Sam her close friends and agrees to be part of a band with them!

It becomes apparent relatively quickly that Abigail’s parents are concerned for her. Caroline mentions that she’s worried about Abigail’s peculiar interests, whereas Pierre remains insecure regarding the father-daughter thing.

Behavior

Abigail's 8-Heart Mountain Caves dialogue in Stardew Valley

Abigail leaves a relatively normal first impression upon your arrival in Stardew Valley’s Pelican Town. She acknowledges you and remains respectful each time you interact with her. After sharing a few dialogues with her, her weird hobbies, such as enjoying visiting the cemetery or exploring overgrown fields, will almost certainly come up.

If these don’t creep you out – Abigail will mostly be a charm later on! Her character development is quite potent in her behavior as you progress to the later stages of friendship. She starts as a grim character that won’t share many personal details with you. After hitting 6+ hearts of friendship with her, however, Abigail becomes much more open about her feelings and overall thoughts with you.

A significant issue you’ll face while befriending the character is getting in line with her strange interests and ways of thinking. If you can either ignore or get conditioned to those, Abigail transforms from just being another mysterious character to a very considerate Villager that you can befriend in the game!

Schedule

Abigail’s daily routine in Stardew Valley is affected by several factors, such as special events/festivals, in-game weather, the current season, and some irregularities. Here’s a breakdown of her daily activities and schedule, including all special occasions and any deviations.

Summer

Following her regular schedule in the summer season, Abigail wakes up and stays inside her room till 9 am. She then heads towards her kitchen, where she spends the next two hours. At 11 am sharp, the character leaves her house and moves towards the Train Platform in the Railroad area.

She’ll stay here till 2 pm before walking over to the lake situated next to Robin’s house. This is the same area where Sebastian can often be found. Abigail stays here till 5:30 pm before finally deciding to head home. She reaches Pierre’s General Store by 7:30 pm and proceeds to play video games for half an hour before going to sleep.

Special Occasions

On each Wednesday, Abigail leaves her house at 10 am instead of the usual 9 am and heads towards the Library situated in the bottom right corner of Pelican Town. It takes her two hours to reach the building, and she spends a significant portion of her day, up till 6 pm, here.

Afterward, Abigail walks over to the Pelican Town Graveyard. For the next four hours, the character stands idle in front of Mona’s grave (located at the top of the Graveyard).

On each Friday, Abigail leaves her room at 9 am and spends the next two hours in her kitchen. Afterward, the character moves on to Pierre’s General Store – standing idle for the next four hours. Surprisingly, she doesn’t serve on the counter during this time.

At 3 pm sharp, she leaves the store and heads towards the Stardrop Salon. The character spends the next five hours here (commonly seen sitting in the Arcade room) before heading back home at 9 pm. She arrives back by 9:40 pm and heads directly to bed.

On each Sunday, Abigail wakes up early on and stays inside her room. At 10:30 am, she walks outside and heads towards her parent’s room, where she stays for the next two and a half hours.

At precisely 1 pm, Abigail leaves Pierre’s General Store and walks to the Wizard’s Tower located at the bottom left corner of the Cindersap Forest. She spends the rest of her day here and returns to her home once the clock hits 8 pm. It takes her roughly two and a half hours to return, after which she heads directly to her room and goes to sleep.

Winter

For her usual routine in the winter season, Abigail starts the day by leaving her room at 9 in the morning. She walks over to her kitchen and stays there for the next one and a half hours.

At 10:30 am, Abigail leaves the Pierre General Store and heads to Robin’s Shop in the Mountain region north of Pelican Town. Here, she stands idle next to the counter till 2:30 pm. Afterward, the character heads back to her house and proceeds to play video games inside her room. Abigail will spend the rest of her day here and go to bed relatively early, at 7:30 pm.

Special Occasions

On the 15th of Winter, Abigail walks out of her room at 9 am and heads towards the kitchen, where she stays idle for one and a half hours. She then heads towards Robin’s Shop and stays there for the next 4 hours.

Once the clock strikes 2:30 pm, Abigail heads directly to the Night Market event happening at the beach. She spends the rest of the day here and returns home at 12 am. This is the longest that Abigail will stay out for on a single day in her yearly routine.

On each Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday – she follows the same set of activities and timings as she did in the summer season (mentioned above).

Spring

On regular spring days, Abigail wakes up early on but stays inside her room. She’ll leave to stand in the kitchen for one and a half hours starting at 9 am. Then, she heads out to Pierre’s General Store, where she spends another two and a half hours.

At precisely 1 pm, Abigail will set out towards the small stone bridge that connects to the JojaMart at the upper end of Pelican Town. She stays idle here till 4:30 pm before heading back home to Pierre’s General Store. Abigail returns to her room at 5:30 pm to play some video games and goes to bed relatively early, at 7:30 pm.

Special Occasions

On the 4th of Spring, Abigail has her annual check-up at Harvey’s Clinic, which causes her to have a different schedule for this particular day. The character spends the morning remaining idle inside her room till 12:30 pm.

At this point, she heads towards the clinic, spending the next hour inside the waiting room. At 1:30 pm, she moves into the examination room, and the check-up itself lasts for two and a half hours. Once the exam ends at 4 pm, Abigail will head directly back to her house and into her room. She spends the rest of her day inside and goes to sleep at 8 pm.

On each Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday – Abigail will follow the same routines as she did for these days in the summer season (mentioned above).

Fall

Following her regular routine for the fall season in Stardew Valley, Abigail stays inside her room till 9 am and then heads towards her kitchen. After spending one and a half hours here, she leaves Pierre’s General Store. She’ll then stand near the Bus Stop situated between your farmhouse and Pelican Town.

She spends the majority of her day standing idle at this Bus Stop till the clock hits 5 pm. At this point, Abigail decides to head back home. It takes her one and a half hours to reach back, and she moves directly into her bedroom. Here, she spends one-hour playing video games before finally going to bed at 7:30 pm.

Special Occasions

On each Monday, Abigail will stay inside her room till 11 am before heading towards the Beach region. It takes her two hours to walk over to the area, and she moves directly toward the edge of the pier situated next to Willy’s Fish Shop.

This is the exact spot where Sebastian can often be seen in. Abigail spends the next five hours here before heading back home at 6 pm. It takes her another one and a half hours to walk back to Pierre’s General Store, after which she heads directly to bed at 7:30 pm.

On each Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday – Abigail will follow the same routines as she did for these days in the summer season (mentioned above).

After Marriage

Abigail’s schedule in Stardew Valley has two major changes if you marry her.

For each Monday, Abigail will wake up at 6 am and roam around the farmhouse for the next two and a half hours. At 8:30 am, she leaves the house and heads towards Pierre’s General Store. She’ll reach the store by 9:30 am and proceed to stand idle near the counter till 1 pm.

Afterward, she moves to the Pelican Town Graveyard and stands in front of Mona’s Grave. Abigail spends the next four hours here before moving over to the Stardrop Salon. She can be found in the Arcade room playing on the “Journey of the Prairie King” arcade machine. Abigail continues to do this till 8:30 pm before calling it quits and heading back to the farmhouse. She reaches home by 10 pm and goes directly to bed.

For each Friday, the character again wakes up at 6 am and wanders around the house till 8:30 am. She leaves for Pierre’s General Store, where she stands idle in the kitchen for the next two and a half hours.

At 11 am, Abigail heads over to the Mountain region and stands near Robin’s Shop at the western end of its lake. She’ll stay here till 3 pm before visiting the Stardrop Salon. In the salon, the character sits on the sofa in the Arcade room. She’ll call it quits at 8:30 am and walk home. Abigail reaches the farmhouse at 10 pm and goes to bed.

Other Irregularities

There are some additional irregularities associated with Abigail’s schedule in Stardew Valley, which I’ll cover here. These are, however, specific cases – the general routine of the character will be as mentioned in the sections above.

If you have less than a 6-heart friendship with Sebastian, Abigail’s schedule for the 11th and 25th of each season changes. According to this, the character starts the day off by leaving her room at 10 am and walking over to Robin’s Shop to visit Sebastian.

She spends most of her day from 12:10 pm – 5 pm inside Sebastian’s room before returning home. On these days, Abigail will go to sleep as soon as she returns to her house.

If you have more than a 6-heart friendship with Sebastian, Abigail follows an alternative schedule for the 11th and 25th days of each season. Within this, she leaves her room for the kitchen at 9 am and spends the next one and a half hours here.

At 10:30 am, she moves into Pierre’s General Store and stands next to the counter. Once the clock hits 1 pm, Abigail will head over to the stone bridge connecting the main Pelican Town with the Joja Mart area. She stands here for the next three and a half hours before returning to her home.

After reaching the general store, Abigail heads into her room and plays video games from 5:20 pm – 7:30 pm before finally going to bed.

On the 6th or 16th day of any season, Abigail leaves her room at 9 am to stand in the kitchen. She stays here for one and a half hours before entering Pierre’s General Store.

Here, she stays idle till 3 pm before finally leaving the store and heading over to the western side of the lake in the Mountain region. The character can be found practicing her flute here till 8 pm. At this point, she’ll start walking back to her house, arriving by 9:40 pm. She’ll head directly to bed.

On Rainy Days, Abigail can follow either of the following two schedules.

In the first case, she stays inside her room till 11 am before going to Pierre’s General Store. After staying idle here for two hours, she moves back into the kitchen area, where she’ll spend another two hours doing nothing.

At 3 pm, Abigail returns to her bedroom and spends the rest of her day there. She’ll go to bed at 10 pm.

In the second scenario, Abigail leaves her room at 9 am to stand in the kitchen for the next two hours. Once the clock hits 11 am, she enters Pierre’s General Store, where she remains idle till 2 pm. At this point, Abigail will head on over to the Stardrop Salon, where she’ll spend the rest of the day inside the Arcade room.

She starts walking back home at 9 pm, reaches the store in an hour, and goes to bed.

Heart Events

Heart events are special interactions you can experience with each character after reaching a certain level of friendship with them. In Stardew Valley, Abigail has the following heart events that you can unlock and experience.

Two Heart Event

Abigail’s two-heart event requires you to enter Pierre’s General Store (with her present inside) on any day except Saturday. The event features Abigail rage-quitting after losing at the “Journey of The Prairie King” video game.

Upon seeing you, she asks you for help, and both of you start playing the game in multiplayer mode. The mini-game starts, and the rules remain the same, except this time, Abigail plays alongside you. Before the event ends, Abigail thanks you for helping her, regardless of whether you beat the game or not.

Four Heart Event

The four-heart event will only trigger on a rainy day. Additionally, you have to enter the Mountain region between noon and 7 pm. This event will never trigger in the winter season.

A cutscene plays showcasing Abigail practicing on her flute. Upon your arrival, she asks what you’re doing out in the rain. You’ll have three options to choose from. Two of these will result in an increase in friendship with the character, whereas the final one causes your friendship level to remain unaffected.

Whatever you end up choosing, Abigail will ask you to come to stand under a tree with her. At the end of the event, your character pulls out a harp from their inventory, and both of you start playing music together.

Six Heart Event

To experience Abigail’s six-heart event in Stardew Valley, you’ll have to enter Pelican Town on a non-rainy day anywhere between 9 pm – 12 am. The event features Abigail standing near the Pelican Town Graveyard with a sword in her hand.

Upon inquiring, she explains that she’s brushing up on her swordsmanship. Abigail then asks you if you have any experience with a sword. You’re then presented with four options to pick from. Two of these result in a mild increase in friendship with her; one has no effect, whereas the last will significantly decrease it.

Pierre (her father) then enters the area and calls out for Abigail. Apparently, Caroline (her mother) needs help with cooking. Abigail becomes visibly frustrated and explains that her parents only expect her to cook because she’s a girl. Both of you then run off and hide from Pierre in some bushes nearby. Before the event ends, Abigail will ask you to help free her hair that gets tangled in the bushes.

Eight Heart Event

Her eight-heart event requires you to first receive a letter in your mailbox from Abigail. Once you’ve crossed that out, you have to enter Pierre’s General Store between 8 pm – 10 pm with the character present inside.

A cutscene plays in which you receive a letter from Abigail inviting you into her room. The character then shows you her “spirit board,” which, unexpectedly, displays a message saying that Abigail is developing feelings for you. Abigail then hurriedly rushes you out of her room and apologizes for the whole scenario.

Ten Heart Event

For this event, you’ll have to give Abigail a bouquet and enter the Mines between 5 pm – 12 am. A cutscene triggers, showing Abigail standing near the ladder of the Mines. A bat enemy then flies out from the Mines, startling Abigail.

She laughs it off and prepares to go down the ladder. Suddenly, a massive number of bats fly out from the Mines, scaring Abigail away into a corner of the room. You’re then presented with two dialogue options to choose from – both of which increase your friendship with the character.

After her response, you’ll again have three alternatives to select from. Two of these increase your friendship with the character, whereas the one left will decrease it. Before the cutscene ends, Abigail will confess her feelings and hug you.

Fourteen Heart Event

Abigail’s ten-heart event will trigger if you enter the Backwoods anywhere between 6 am to 5 pm. The event shows you picking Fruit from a couple of bushes. Suddenly, a creature jumps out and attacks – causing you to faint.

Abigail will then show up and proceed to attack the monster, effectively killing it. She becomes remorseful for doing so, and you’re presented with four dialogues to choose from. Each one of these alternatives will offer different responses from Abigail. However, none of them will affect your friendship level with the character.

Before the event ends, Abigail will warn you to be more careful in the future as she doesn’t want to lose you anytime soon. After this event, a grave resembling the “Sign of The Vessel” decoration will permanently be created at the site where Abigail slays the monster. The grave is interactable and will display a message each time you interact with it.
