AION Classic has announced a new instance called Crucible Challenge is included in their 2.5 update. Let’s dive in and see what’s in store for Elyos and Asmodians alike.

What is the Crucible Challenge?

The Crucible Challenge is a training simulation powered by illusions designed to help Daevas grow and become more powerful. Take the gauntlet of the Crucible Challenge alone from Levels 50-55, for a chance to pick up some prized treasures.

Elyos who are keen to improve their fighting skills can register for training at the Kaisinel Academy entrance in Sanctum.

On the other hand, Asmodians can head to the Marchutan Priory entrance in Pandaemonium.

Mechanics

The Crucible Challenge takes place in one arena, through the clever use of illusory magic, presenting unique challenges for every visit. The objective is to master six stages, each divided into multiple rounds.

The goal is to defeat all monsters and then talk to the Recordkeeper to start the next stage. A useful tip is to take a short breather between stages before you talk to the Recordkeeper.

You increase your score for every defeated monster, with more points promising better rewards at the end of the instance. Using respawning skills or items in the Crucible is not allowed. However, if you fall to the enemies, you can use a Worthiness Ticket to continue the fight. Any remaining Worthiness Tickets disappear at the end of the training.

You can end the Crucible Challenge at any point by clicking the Stop Training button in the top right of the screen. The instance can be entered once per week and resets weekly on Wednesdays at 9 AM CET.

The Phases

The first stage comprises a variety of belligerent plant species. Tear out the weeds and cut the Grissil of Verdure down to continue.

Out of the flora pan and into the fauna, you’ll encounter either aggressive avians or bloodthirsty Kerubs and Spriggs. Survive the onslaught, and you’ll unlock a bonus round, where Poppy is on the run from the Dukaki Cooks! Rescue the porky porgus from becoming their next meal to enjoy some special rewards.

The next stage will test your tactical thinking. After defeating the monsters, their leader will be waiting. Your next incursion will take you to fight either Haramel or Kaliga and his minions in the Nightmare.

Regardless of who you beat, Administrator Arminos will appear in a bonus round in the form of a minigame: a choice of three chests. Choose wisely, and be rewarded.

In the fifth stage, you’ll meet some familiar faces from Sanctum and Pandaemonium. Beat them at their own game and earn yourself the right to face the final opponent!

The sixth and final stage lets you face Vanktrist Spacetwine, who will use every sinew of his strength to stop you from completing your training. Should you achieve the feat, you can enjoy a range of prizes depending on your score, including wings, Balic materials, and much more!

I always believe that you don’t need fancy graphics to make a fantastic game.
