In this article, we’ll be exploring GTA 5’s collection of JDM vehicles. For those that do not know what a JDM vehicle is, we’ll briefly explain. JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market, which includes classic brands such as Nissan, Honda, Lexus, Toyota, and Mitsubishi. JDM cars were part of the 90s Japanese car culture, which involved heavily modifying and customizing Japanese-produced sports cars. Rockstar has added many cars inspired by those found in the Japanese Domestic Market. Today we’ll be exploring the very best.

Sadly, we haven’t really seen any JDM SUVs entering GTA Online. But, with that said, let’s begin!

1

Annis Elegy Retro Custom

Speed: 115.25
Price: $1,009,000

While not the fastest car in GTA V, the Annis Elegy Retro Custom is a JDM vehicle added to GTA Online as part of the 1.37 Import/Export Update in 2016. The Retro Custom is a modified version of the Elegy RH8 and is based on the Skyline GT-R34. Therefore, it is an excellent car to modify into Paul Walker’s Skyline.

First, you’ll have to purchase the Elegy RH8 for $95,000, and then head to Benny’s Original Motor Works to convert it into the Elegy Retro Custom for an additional $904,000. Once converted and fully upgraded you’ll be able to reach speeds of 115.25 mph. It may not be the fastest, but it is an amazing car inspired by one of the most iconic cars in the JDM scene, the Skyline GT-R.

2

As this is not a Tuners Vehicle it is unlikely you’ll need to bother fully upgrading this JDM car.

The Annis Elegy RH8 has been an iconic Grand Theft Auto V JDM car, having been in the game since its launch. You will find this vehicle in both Story and Online modes, with it being based on the real-life Nissan GTR35. Therefore, this is one of the most iconic JDM cars available.

You can purchase the Elegy RH8 from Legendary Motorsports for $95,000 and customize it at Benny’s Original Motor Works, or Los Santos Customs. Fully customizing the RH8 will cost you an additional $318,140. This is a reasonably fast JDM car, coming in at roughly 118.50 mph.

Price: $1,789,000

The Karin Sultan RS Classic is a JDM vehicle that was added to GTA Online as part of the 1.57 Los Santos Tuners update in 2021. This classic car is based on the Subaru Impreza 22B STI.

You’ll be able to purchase the Sultan RS Classic from S.A. Super Autos for $1,789,000. You can then fully upgrade the vehicle to reach speeds of 117.50 mph, this will cost you an additional $598,886.

A fantastic feature of this car is the ability to lower the stance of the vehicle, have low-grip tires, and make the car slide more during drifts. It’s a true drifters car!

8

Karin Calico GTF

Speed: 121.25 mph

9

Annis Euros

The Euros is a great sporty JDM car, with Tuner Vehicle customization, but it is by far one of the most expensive on this list to purchase and upgrade, costing a total of $2,449,315. Therefore, the main selling point for this vehicle is merely cosmetic.

10

Annis Remus

Speed: 115.50 mph
Price: $1,370,000

Like the Calico GTF, the Remus is a Tuners Vehicle and therefore can be customized and tuned more than non-tuner vehicles. So whilst this may seem like an expensive JDM car, you can definitely justify its price when considering its customization.

11

Karin Futo GTX
