The R301 is the most popular assault rifle in Apex, so it’s only fitting that the best R301 skins are some of the most coveted unlockables in the game. They’re a prestige symbol. Something that proves your dedication, and your mastery of Apex Legends. And who doesn’t want to be proud of their achievements?

Since Apex Legends isn’t a pay-to-win game, the only way you’ll improve in the game is by actually playing it and getting better over time. The different weapons and Legends skins are only there to make the experience more pleasing to the eye.

1

The Golden Rampage

The Golden Rampage the best R301 skins

How to get this skin: This skin was a Season 2 battle pass item and is sadly unavailable to acquire through conventional means.

The Golden Rampage is incredibly silly as far as weapon design goes, yet, that’s what makes it one of the best R301 skins in the game. It’s positively ridiculous! The weapon is almost entirely made out of gold and silver, with a golden rhinoceros horn at the end of the barrel.

2

The Last Spartan

The Last Spartan

How to get this skin: This skin is craftable in the in-game store for 1200 crafting materials.

“Ferocious” is the only way to describe The Last Spartan skin for the R301. It represents the ancient Spartans quite well, as the skin itself is quite simple – a characteristic that the Lacademonians greatly valued. However, that does not mean that the skin itself does not have an irresistible charm.

3

Unsheathed Rebellion

Unsheathed Rebellion

How to get this skin: This skin can be crafted in the in-game store for 1200 crafting materials.

The Unsheated Rebellion also takes a minimalistic approach to redesigning the R301, as it doesn’t really change the shape of the gun. However, the Japanese-inspired art style is simply breathtaking. It even has a mini katana as a foregrip.

4

Aftershock Wave

Aftershock Wave

How to get this skin: This skin was a 3rd Anniversary collection event skin and is sadly unavailable to acquire through conventional means.

This thing is absolutely insane! With the right graphics setting enabled, this skin is even more gorgeous to look at. The art style itself is very “glitch-arty” if that’s even a word. There’s an entire kaleidoscope of colors in the Aftershock Wave skin, a turn-off for some, but pleasant for others.

5

Dynastic Cycle

Dynastic Cycle

How to get this skin: This skin is craftable in the in-game store for 1200 crafting materials.

The Dynastic Cycle skin is more a piece of art than it is a gun, which makes it one of the best R301 skins in the game. The art style itself is very reminiscent of the Ukiyo-e period of art in Japan. Plus, just like the Unsheated Rebellion, it also has a katana for a foregrip.

6

Ice Cold

Ice Cold the best R301 skins

How to get this skin: This skin was a Holo Day Bash (2019) collection event skin and sadly cannot be acquired through conventional means anymore.

The Ice Cold skin for the R301 looks more like the sleeve of an evil wizard than an assault rifle. It’s just… ridiculous. However, the name of this skin is spot on, it really is Ice Cold; there really isn’t a better term to describe this skin than that.

7

Trophy Collector

Trophy Collector

How to get this skin: This skin was part of The Old Ways collection event, as such, it can’t be acquired through conventional means anymore.

The Trophy Collector skin takes a simple “do it yourself” approach when it comes to gun design. It isn’t as “improvised” as the Wishbone skin for the R99, however, both skins seem to have been made by the same madman. On a side note, this skin goes great with Bloodhound’s heirloom set item.

8

An Anger Righteous

An Anger Righteous

How to get this skin: This skin was part of the Chaos Theory collection event, as such, it can’t be acquired through conventional means anymore.

This skin is very reminiscent of the old Aventure Comics from the 40s and the 50s, and especially the Superman Comics. It mainly features noble colors like gold and blue, with someone’s face engraved on the side of the gun. If you don’t mind someone staring at you at all times, then this is the skin for you.

9

Exposed Wiring

Exposed Wiring the best R301 skins

How to get this skin: This skin was part of the Monster Within collection event, it can however be crafted for 1200 crafting materials in the in-game store.

The Exposed Wiring skin for the R301 is very reminiscent of the T-800 series Terminators. So if you’re a fan of the Terminator series, then this is probably one of the best R301 skins for you.

10

Enforcer of Justice

Enforcer of Justice

How to get this skin: This skin was a 4th Anniversary Collection Event skin and sadly cannot be acquired through conventional means anymore.

The Enforcer of Justice skin goes to show that even Epic skins can look amazing in Apex Legends. The art style itself seems to be inspired by comic books, even more than the An Anger Righteous skin. This skin mainly features gold and blue colors, with the Apex logo on the side of the gun.

11

Barnacle Buster

Barnacle Buster the best R301 skins

How to get this skin: This skin is craftable in the in-game store for 1200 crafting materials.

By itself, the Barnacle Buster skin for the R301 is unremarkable. But if you pair it with Ash’s Denizen of the Deep skin, then it becomes one of the best R301 skins in the game. Ash may not be the best Assault Legen in Apex Legends, but she at least deserves to have some drip.

12

Trial By Fire

Trial by Fire

How to get this skin: This skin is craftable in the in-game store for 400 crafting materials.

Try Trial by Fire skin for the R301 definitely deserves a spot among the best R301 skins in Apex. Its crimson metallic coat shines in the sun as you spew firey death at your enemies!
