A few hours ago, a new Call of Duty leaker may have entered the ring. Going by the name of Mark Walshburg, they have posted some Call of Duty 2020 leaked footage. While the footage is nothing to write at home about and Mark has confirmed that some features are still missing, it does confirm that the game uses the Modern Warfare 2019 engine.

Call of Duty 2020 leaked footage confirms engine, but not setting

It seems that the new Call of Duty 2020 leak does confirm that they are going to recycle the Modern Warfare 2019 engine, but not whether the setting of the game is taking place during the Cold War.

Keep in mind, this is pre-alpha footage. The game is at a very basic foundation level, which is why there is no sliding and the crouch mechanic isn’t working as intended.

The original twitter video has been taken down, but here is a copy of it.

It’s safe to say that by now the game should have had made much more progress and is in a better state. The age of the footage in question is not easy to determine.

Mark also confirms that the name of the map being played on is called Tank, but is subject to change.

While this is officially the longest we have gone without a Call of Duty reveal now, with the reveals taking place as early as April and last year Modern Warfare was revealed on May 30th, 2019.

It’s understandable that due to the current situation in the United States and Activision has already paused the rollout of Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 4 and Call of Duty Mobile Season 7, it only makes sense for them to also hold off on a major Call of Duty announcement.

While we have a 1000 questions about the latest Call of Duty title, it seems that we won’t be getting any answers to them any time soon.

For now, all we can do is support the protests happening in the United States and hope that the situation improves soon. The country is going through a very difficult time and as such, all game companies postponing their events and more out of solidarity is the best course of action.
