Crysis Remastered was announced and was supposed to release for July 23rd, but after the reception from some leaked content made them decide to work on the game for a bit more time. It seems Crysis Remastered is still on track for its original release date, but only for the Nintendo Switch.

Crysis Remastered on the Switch looks very decent

Crytek has just confirmed that Crysis Remastered is still on track for a July 23rd release on the Nintendo Switch. The game even has some brief gameplay clips and screenshots on its website.

The site has a good host of content captured directly on the Nintendo Switch.

Here is a look at some gameplay clips.

Here are some screenshots of the game, captured directly on the Switch as well:

Some of the main features of Crysis Remastered on the Switch includes:

  • Gyro Aiming
  • New Light Settings
  • Dynamic Lighting
  • Destructible environments and vegetation bending

What’s the size and price of the game on the Switch?

The game is expected to be 8 GB on the Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch version is 6.1 GB on the eShop, with a price tag of $29.99.

All in all, for a 13-year-old game, the game still looks phenomenal, even on a console like the Nintendo Switch.

Considering the Xbox Store stated that the game would have 4K, this is perhaps where Crytek could be adding polish to the other versions of the game.

In addition to 4K, Crytek is aiming to deliver high-quality textures for the consoles & PC, and the with the CRYENGINE’s native hardware and API centered ray tracing solution, delivering software-based ray-tracing over hardware-based.

While Crytek is limited to what they can do with the game on the Nintendo Switch, this version of the game needs the least amount of work.

This will give Crytek enough time to polish and improve the other versions of the game.

We still don’t know the framerate or the other technical details of the Switch port of Crysis Remastered, but a digital foundry video should address that.
