Crysis Remastered on Xbox One X was one of the more highly anticipated EA remaster titles that fans of the original series were waiting for. Being the only game on the current-generation consoles offering software-based raytracing, many fans were excited at the idea of playing a 13-year-old game with a fresh coat of paint, but that excitement turned to disappointment for Xbox One X owners.

Crysis Remastered on Xbox One X – Can it run Crysis? Technically yes, but no.

It seems Crysis Remastered on Xbox One X is currently having a lot of problems with Crysis Remastered. After a delay from its original July release date, Crytek took some time to polish the game on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but it seems that some bugs slipped through the cracks.

In a series of tweets by GameTripperUK, they show their problems with the game.

And the troubles continue

Performance mode works, but it sort of breaks the AI in the process.

Lastly, reinstalling the game did it no favors.

Crytek is aware of the issue and they’re looking to deploy a patch as early as the coming week for the Xbox One users.

john Linneman with Digital Foundry says that the version they played a few weeks ago was far more polished.

In addition, John chimes in to say that the PS4 Pro version performs better but suffers FPS judder due to the 31FPS bug.

So far it seems like a rocky start for the game, but should be resolved promptly.

EA may have had the least amount of remasters released this generation, but to their credit, they are making efforts to release more before the generation ends.

The recent tease of the potential Mass Effect trilogy gives fans a glimmer of hope, but hopefully with fewer bugs.

Crysis was one of the previous console generations most ambitious titles, but with the conclusion of the series, we can’t expect anything beyond further remasters.

EA did state that if the Crysis remaster sells well, it can open the door for future remasters as well. Let’s hope they keep that promise.
