These two Destiny 2 Defiance of Yasmin god rolls are strong – as strong as a kinetic sniper is going to get. That last bit is important, becuase if Destiny 2 snipers aren’t in-season for DPS, then they’re pretty useless. When they are being used, though, these two Defiance of Yasmin god rolls will be powerful META contenders.

I’m going to run you through both the PvE and PvP god roll for Defiance of Yasmin. These are my takes on the weapon, so if you disagree with my choices – that’s fine. Feel free to let me know. Otherwise, take note of these rolls and start tallying up those King’s Fall clears.

  • Arrowhead Break
  • Tactical Mag
  • Ensemble
  • Firing Line

This Defiance of Yasmin god roll has been designed strictly for boss DPS. Snipers don’t really have a place in the META beyond this right now – so taking something like Firefly just doesn’t make any sense.

Starting off, I’m running Arrowhead Break (surprise, surprise). Arrowhead Break is possibly the best barrel perk in the entire game, and most of the time, its improved recoil direction is the reason for that. Why we’re using it here, though, is that combined with the increased handling. Given that this god roll is all about hitting bosses hard, weapon up-time is critical, and Arrowhead Break helps that tremendously.

My reasoning remains the same for picking Tactical Mag over Accurized Rounds. Tactical Mag gives us faster reload speed, meaning you spend less time reloading and more time shooting during boss damage phases.

Ensemble isn’t a perk I normally choose for god rolls, but in the case of Defiance of Yasmin, it’s actually pretty powerful. It synergizes with Firing Line exceptionally well, although both perks are useless unless you’re playing with a Fireteam.

With Ensemble, when you’re next to an ally, you get 30 handling and 40 reload speed. That’s a massive boost that makes a very noticable difference when you’re huddled into a well during something like the Warpriest encounter.

Lastly, I’m running Firing Line. Most PvE players will already be familiar with this perk, but for those that aren’t, here’s a quick breakdown: When you’re next to two or more members of your Fireteam, your weapon deals 20% more precision damage.

It’s a flat damage buff that will always be active during boss damage phases, provided you have a full fireteam. That damage, combined with the insane reload speed this Defiance of Yasmin god roll has, actually allows it to output somewhat good damage. It’s no linear, but it is a good kinetic DPS weapon to combine with something like a Taipan.

  • Arrowhead Break
  • Accurized Rounds
  • Snapshot Sights
  • Opening Shot

Defiance of Yasmin has a pretty obvious PvP god roll. It’s one that we’ve seen time and time again – and it’s always been META. So, if you’re on the hunt for a new kinetic PvP sniper, this roll might be just what you’re looking for.

First things first, I’m keeping Arrowhead Break for the improved recoil and handling like before, but I’m subbing out Tactical Mag for Accurized Rounds. Defiance of Yasmin actually has pretty poor range for a sniper, and that can cost you kills in some of the game’s longer maps. Accurized Rounds helps with that. If you’re finding that you still struggle at extreme distances even with this roll, consider swaping Arrowhead for something like Smallbore or Corkscrew Rifling to give its range that push over the edge.

Talking about barrel and ammo perks is all well and good, but they’re not what makes a god roll. They help, sure, but it’s columns three and four that actually matter. In the case of this Defiance of Yasmin PvP god roll, I’m opting for the ol’ reliable combination of Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot.

Snapshot Sights was great, is great, and will always be great. There’s absolutely no reason to not want increased ADS (aim down sight) speeds, especially on sniper rifles. This works well with Opening Shot, which gives us more range and accuracy on the first shot we fire. That extra range is particualrly noticable and why I’ve opted for Opening Shot over the equally popular Moving Target.

Overall, Defiance of Yasmin is a good weapon – but middle of the pack when compared to the other King’s Fall god rolls. The likes of Zaouli’s Bane and Doom of Chelchis blow it out of the water, which is saying something considering how good these Defiance of Yasmin god rolls are. Don’t prioritize crafting a Defiance anytime soon – but keep an eye on any that drop for you.
