I’ve compiled a list of every new weapon in Season of the Seraph in Destiny 2. We may not have gotten any Exotic armor this season, but we did get a ludicrous number of new or changed weapons. I’m going go over each new Season of the Seraph weapon quickly, breaking down where to get it, and whether or not I think it’s any good.

This is essentially a summary of every new weapon in Season of the Seraph, including old weapons with Destiny 2‘s new perks, so you’re bound to disagree with at least one of my opinions here – and that’s okay. At the end of the day, nothing will ever be better than Funnelweb, anyway.

Every New Weapon in Season of the Seraph – Destiny 2

Seasonal Weapons

Fire and Forget

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Fire and Forget
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Stasis Linear Fusion Rifle
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Focusing at the Exo-Frame
  • META Viability: Niche

Despite being a three-round burst Linear, Fire and Forget is easily outclassed by Stormchaser and other top-end Linears. However, its unique access to Chill Clip means it has a place in encounters made difficult by sporadic, moving bosses (like Warpriest).

Tripwire Canary

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Tripwire Canary
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc Bow
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Focusing at the Exo-Frame
  • META Viability: Potential with Champion Mods

Tripwire Canary has a lot of great perk combinations, but it’s held back by its low AD-clear potential compared to the Voltshot and Incandescent weapons dominating the META right now. It’s pretty good as far as regular bows go, and it’ll see some play while Bow Champion Mods are in season.

Disparity

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Disparity
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Stasis Pulse Rifle
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Focusing at the Exo-Frame
  • META Viability: High – PvE and PvP

Disparity is potentially the strongest weapon released with Season of the Seraph. It’s got incredible META rolls for both PvE and PvP – make crafting this a priority.

Path of Least Resistance

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Path of Least Resistance
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc Trace Rifle
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Focusing at the Exo-Frame
  • META Viability: Potential if Trace Rifles are in season

Path of Least Resistance has a great perk pool that opens up a range of god roll possibilities. It’s held back by the relative weakness of Trace Rifles compared to everything else – but should Trace Rifles ever receive a buff, this is one you’ll want to have in your back pocket.

Judgment of Kelograth

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Judgment of Kelgorath
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Solar Glaive
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Focusing at the Exo-Frame
  • META Viability: Potential if Glaives Become META

There are a handful of really interesting rolls on this Glaive. Nothing extraordinary, but interesting enough to warrant some experimentation with. If you’re a fan of Glaives or want a good one for if they ever become META, this is a solid choice.

Retrofit Escapade

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Retrofit Escapade
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Void Machine Gun
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Focusing at the Exo-Frame
  • META Viability: High

In a bizarre twist of fate, it turns out that Retrofit Escapade has the highest DPS out of any weapon in Season of the Seraph – with the right god roll. This is especially true for any Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk mains out there.

Ikelos Weapons

Ikelos SMG

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Ikelos SMG
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc SMG
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Focusing at the Exo-Frame
  • META Viability: High – PvE Exclusively

The IKELOS SMG V1.0.3 should have been a terrible weapon. At the very least, it has a weak perk pool. However, the god roll of Feeding Frenzy/Voltshot is enough to take this gun from being a nothing weapon to a must-craft. It hasn’t got an equivalent roll for PvP, but that PvE roll is one you should prioritize getting.

Ikelos Shotgun

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Ikelos Shotgun
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Solar Shotgun
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Focusing at the Exo-Frame
  • META Viability: High – PvE and PvP

Subsistence, Incandescent, Swashbuckler, One-Two Punch, Trench Barrel, Grave Robber. Those are just some of the perks that can roll on this thing. If you’re a fan of Rapid-Fire frame shotguns, then there’s bound to be an Ikelos roll for you.

Ikelos Sniper

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Ikelos Sniper
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Solar Sniper
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Focusing at the Exo-Frame
  • META Viability: None

Snipers aren’t great in PvE, and we already have a handful of S-tier snipers in PvP. This doesn’t do anything well enough to break into the top tier or either META. It’s not bad – just not great.

Ikelos Hand Cannon

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Ikelos Hand Cannon
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Void Hand Cannon
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Focusing at the Exo-Frame
  • META Viability: None

As much as I hate to say it, there aren’t really any great rolls for this Hand Cannon. It lacks any sort of traditional god roll combination and has none of the new S-tier perks to make up for that. That being said, it does have a fun Repulsor Brace roll.

Dungeon Weapons

Terminus Horizon

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Terminus Horizon
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc Machine Gun
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Spire of the Watcher
  • META Viability: High – as far as Machine Guns go

Yeah, I would consider this a META-viable Machine Gun in PvE. It rolls with Rapid Hit and Voltshot, which is the roll I’m also hunting on the Ikelos SMG – except this is a Machine Gun. It might not be better than Unwavering Duty, but it’s pretty damn close.

Liminal Vigil

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Liminal Vigil
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Stasis Sidearm
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Spire of the Watcher
  • META Viability: High – PvP

Liminal Vigil is going to make a big splash in the PvP environment. You’ve got access to Kill Clip, which is nice. However, you also get Desperado here, which is infinitely more important. Keep an eye out for this one – you should try to prioritize it.

Long Arm

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Long Arm
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc Scout Rifle
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Spire of the Watcher
  • META Viability: High – PvP

Out of every new weapon in Season of the Seraph – this is the one that’s making the most waves. It’s essentially a legendary Dead Man’s Tale, and what’s not to love about that? If you’re a DMT fan, get your hands on this.

Wilderflight

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Wilderflight
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Void Grenade Launcher
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Spire of the Watcher
  • META Viability: Unknown

Wilderflight is a brand-new archetype! It’s a Grenade Launcher that fires two grenades per shot, which is really exciting. Given its newness of it, I’m not sure where it’ll fit in the META – this is more of a wait-and-see weapon.

Seventh Seraph Carbine

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Seventh Seraph Carbine
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Kinetic Auto Rifle
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Spire of the Watcher
  • META Viability: Low

This Seventh Seraph Auto Rifle redux is somewhat interesting. It rolls Reconstruction, for example. However, I don’t see anything on the weapon that really stands out to me – it looks boring and mediocre.

Seventh Seraph Revolver

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Seventh Seraph Revolver
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Kinetic Hand Cannon
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Spire of the Watcher
  • META Viability: Low

Same thing here – there just doesn’t seem to be anything worth getting excited over on these two Seventh Seraph weapons.

Playlist Weapons

Vanguard – Prolonged Engagement

Destiny 2 Prolonged Engagement god roll weapon in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Stasis SMG
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Complete Vanguard Strikes
  • META Viability: Niche to High

Veist SMGs will always do well, especially when they roll with Subsistence like this one. On top of that, Prolonged Engagement has a massive perk pool with plenty of great column four options. In particular, I think a Subsistence/Headstone roll is worth looking at for the Stasis mains out there.

Gambit – Albruna-D

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Albruna-D
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc Sniper
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Complete Gambit Matches
  • META Viability: High – PvE

As far as snipers go, it doesn’t really get better than this. You’ve got an Aggressive Frame combined with a perk pool of 12 options in columns three and four. This pool includes the likes of Firing Line, Vorpal, Clown Cartridge, Opening Shot, Snapshot Sights, and more. This is a sniper that can do it all – but you can’t craft it.

Crucible – Blowout

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Blowout
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc Rocket Launcher
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Complete Crucible Matches
  • META Viability: HighPvE and PvP

Rocket Launchers are nice because they’re either good, or they’re not. There’s no in-between. This one is good and rolls with all the top-tier perks you would be looking for on a launcher for both PvE and PvP.

Foundry Weapons

Hakke – Lodbrok-C

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Lodbrok-C
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Kinetic Auto Rifle
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: World Pool Drop
  • META Viability: None

There’s a little bit of potential here with the likes of Demolitionist/Adrenaline Junkie, but I’ve never been a fan of Hakke auto rifles, and this one’s no different.

Veist – Jararaca-3SR

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Jararaca
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Stasis Scout
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: World Pool Drop
  • META Viability: None

Beyond some Headstone rolls, the Jararaca has little to nothing going for it. It’s a weak scout that won’t make any impact on the META at all.

Suros – Fioritura-59

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Fioritura
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Void Sidearm
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: World Pool Drop
  • META Viability: None

Like the rest of every new Foundry weapon in Season of the Seraph, this one has nothing going for it. The Sidearm from Spire of the Watcher is much better, anyway.

Omolon – Aurvandil F46

Destiny 2 Every new weapon in Season of the Seraph - Aurvandil
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Stasis Fusion Rifle
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: World Pool Drop
  • META Viability: Niche

There are some Chill Clip shenanigans with this weapon that could potentially be really powerful. Outside of that one niche use, there’s no reason to run this over something like Null Composure.

Trials Weapons

Exalted Truth + Adept

Exalted Truth in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Void Hand Cannon
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Trials of Osiris
  • META Viability: High – PvP

Exalted Truth and its Adept variant are both Hand Cannons well worth pursuing. Outlaw/Kill Clip is an obvious god roll go-to here, but there are other options at your disposal. Unfortunately, it’s held back in PvE without any large AD-clear potential.

Unwavering Duty + Adept

Unwavering Duty in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Solar Machine Gun
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Trials of Osiris
  • META Viability: High – As far as Machine Guns go

As far as Machine Guns go, this one is great. You’ve got the likes of Killing Tally, Firing Line, Subsistence, Incandescent, and more at your disposal in this weapon’s perk pool. I’d go as far as to say it’s the best PvE Machine Gun in the game right now.

Nightfall Weapons

Wendigo GL3 + Adept

Wendigo in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc Grenade Launcher
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Nightfall Strikes
  • META Viability: None

Grenade Launchers are in a terrible position right now, which doesn’t help what is already an incredibly weak weapon in the Wendigo GL3.

Hung Jury + Adept

Hung Jury in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Kinetic Scout Rifle
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Nightfall Strikes
  • META Viability: High – Endgame PvE

Scouts don’t see a whole lot of use outside of endgame PvE – mainly meaning Grandmasters. As far as Scouts for GMs go, this one is pretty good. If you’re in the market for a solid Scout, this one and its slightly updated perk pool will serve you well.

Competitive Crucible Weapons

Dark Decider

Dark Decider in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc Auto Rifle
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Competetive Crucible Playlist
  • META Viability: Potential

Dark Decider can roll with Voltshot, which is inherently very good. However, its best column three perk is Subsistence, which isn’t too great with Voltshot. There’s nothing else there that really pairs with it well, making this one of the weaker Voltshot weapons in the game in my opinion.

Rose

Rose in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Kinetic Hand Cannon
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Competetive Crucible Playlist
  • META Viability: High – PvP

Rose is a great 140RPM that any serious Crucible player will want to get their hands on. It doesn’t have too much to offer in PvE, but there’s some serious potential here for PvP.

Gunnora’s Axe

Gunnora's Axe in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc Shotgun
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Competetive Crucible Playlist
  • META Viability: High – PvP

Again, this is a pretty good slug-shotty that you might want to consider hunting. It can roll with Voltshot, which is interesting for PvE, but PvP is clearly what this weapon has been designed for.

Deep-Stone Crypt Weapons

Trustee

Trustee in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Solar Scout Rifle
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Deep Stone Crypt Raid
  • META Viability: Potential

As is the case with most of the new DSC weapons, Trustee is great. Incandescent and Swashbuckler are both stellar PvE roll options here, but there’s some stuff for PvP too if you float that way.

Heritage

Heritage in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Kinetic Shotgun
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Deep Stone Crypt Raid
  • META Viability: Low

In my opinion, Heritage doesn’t have much going for it that other shotguns do. Sure, you have the likes of Slideshot and Snapshot here – which is great on a shotty, but that’s pretty much it.

Succession

Succession in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Kinetic Sniper Rifle
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Deep Stone Crypt Raid
  • META Viability: Low

Succession is in the same boat as Heritage. It has a No Distractions / Snapshot Sights combo, which is great for PvP, but not much to offer either sandbox beyond that. It’s good, but not META-defining.

Posterity

Posterity in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc Hand Cannon
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Deep Stone Crypt Raid
  • META Viability: Potential

This is the weapon I’m most excited about from this new batch of DSC guns. It rolls with Voltshot in column three, which is unusual. I actually think that works against Posterity, but I’ll need to play around with it to make my mind up.

Commemoration

Commemoration in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Void Machine Gun
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Deep Stone Crypt Raid
  • META Viability: Low

I mean, Subsistence / Killing Tally. How could you not love that combination? It’s far from the best new weapon in Destiny 2, but it’ll be great for Ad-clear.

Bequest

Bequest in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Arc Sword
  • Craftable: Yes
  • How to Obtain: Deep Stone Crypt Raid
  • META Viability: Low

I don’t use many swords myself, so I’m not sure how to rate Bequest. I’ve practically never seen it in-game, and its rolls don’t look that great, so that’s probably not a good sign for the DSC sword.

Ritual Weapon

Veles-X

Velex-X in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Void Pulse Rifle
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Vanguard Playlists Vendor Reward
  • META Viability: None

Talk about a disappointing ritual weapon. Out of every new weapon in Season of the Seraph – this could actually be the worst. It’s got no good rolls given it’s a static weapon, and its whole gimmick is being able to change Origin Trait. Who cares? Compare that to Null Composure and Salvager’s Silo.

Exotic Weapons

Hierarchy of Needs

Hierarchy of Needs in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Solar Bow
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Spire of the Watcher
  • META Viability: Niche

Hierarchy of Needs isn’t game-breaking in any meaningful way. It’s far from being busted. However, it will find some high-end PvE play thanks to its range and high-damage output capabilities. Plus, if Warmind Cells ever get buffed in the future – this might just become META-viable.

The Manticore

The Manticore in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Void Submachine Gun
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Season 19 Season Pass Reward Track
  • META Viability: NoneBut it’s fun

The Manticore is objectively not very good. However, using it is some of the most fun you’re going to have with any single Exotic. I wouldn’t bring this into anything harder than Battlegrounds, but if you want to run it in your regular activities to liven them up a bit – more power to you!

Dawning Weapons

Stay Frosty

Stay Frosty in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Stasis Pulse Rifle
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Dawning Reward
  • META Viability: None

Stay Frosty is a Pulse that can roll with Desperado, and that’s reason enough to hunt it. It’s not as overpowered as some YouTubers might have you believe, but it’s certainly a decent Pulse Rifle in both PvE and PvP. Although, it’s held back by its Lightweight Frame archetype.

Cold Front

Cold Front in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Kinetic Submachine Gun
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Dawning Reward
  • META Viability: Low

Subsistence, Rampage, One For All. Beyond those three perks, Cold Front doesn’t have much to offer this year – which is a shame. I really wanted this one to come back with some busted stuff.

Glacioclasm

Glacioclasm in inventory
ZImage via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Void Fusion Rifle
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Dawning Reward
  • META Viability: High – PvE and PvP

Not much has changed with the Glacioclasm this year – and that’s fine by me. Reservoir Burst, Subsistence, and Repulsor Break are all top-tier options here and well worth pursuing – especially if you were unfortunate enough to miss out on Null Composure.

Zephyr

Zephyr in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Stasis Sword
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Dawning Reward
  • META Viability: Low

As far as swords go, Zephyr is alright. It’s not special, and swords aren’t in the best of places at the minute, so I wouldn’t focus too much on this one – especially since all these dawning weapons are limited time.

Avalanche

Avalanche in inventory
Image via Bungie
  • Weapon Type: Solar Machine Gun
  • Craftable: No
  • How to Obtain: Dawning Reward
  • META Viability: High – as far as Machine Guns go

Ironically, Avalanche is probably the best Dawning weapon this year. Like Unwavering Duty, it can roll with Subsistence and Incandescent – which is a monster combo on a Machine Gun for Ad-clear. I’ll be hunting this one myself – I recommend you do the same.
