So, here’s everything you need to know about the Boc the Seamster Quest in Elden Ring.
Elden Ring’s Boc quest: Where to find Boc
Finding Boc the Seamster’s first location in West Limgrave to initiate his quest will make players sweat. He’s initially found south of Agheel Lake North Site of Grace near the telescope. In the nearby area, you’ll only hear his voice calling out to you for help. The source of his voice leads to a suspicious-looking shrub engraved with player messages. That’s exactly him, cursed by a spell.
In order to reveal his true form, you’ll have to hit or roll into the shrub. Once done, speak to him a couple of times to exhaust his dialogue, and it turns out his kind turned on him and turned him into a tree. As a token of thanks, he hands us some Mushrooms, but he speaks of giving us an even greater reward by sneaking into his home in the Coastal Cave.
Elden Ring’s Boc Quest: Get the Sewing Needle
Naturally, you’ll want to head to the Coastal Cave lickety-split to check up on Boc the Seamster for his quest. As you might’ve guessed, you’ll find Boc weakened thanks to getting beat up by his own people. The poor fellow only wanted to retrieve his prized Sewing Needle (the reward he mentions). Also, he’ll tell you to leave asap unless you want to end up like him.
Fortunately for Boc, you can easily cakewalk the Coastal Cave to get his item. At the tail end of this cave is the Demi-Human Chief duo boss fight. If 1v2 seems a bit unfair, you can always level the field by calling Old Knight Istvan and one of your best Spirit Ashes to your aid. After slaying the boss, you’ll earn the Sewing Needle. Return to Boc, give him the Sewing Needle, and he’ll rejuvenate with life again.
As it so happens, the Coastal Cave doesn’t end with beating the boss, and much to players’ curiosity, going beyond the cave will lead you to the Church of Dragon Communion. While it doesn’t have anything to do with Boc’s quest, scouring this area now won’t hurt at all.
Where Does Boc Go Next?
After procuring the Sewing Needle in Boc the Seamster’s quest, you’ll unlock the ability to alter your garbs at the cost of some runes. Also, the Demi-Human then hops across a couple of locations in Liurnia.
For his first meeting in Liurnia, he can be found near the Lake Facing Cliff Site of Grace, marked on the map above. Make sure to rest at the Site of Grace for him to appear. At this point in Boc’s quest in Elden Ring, he becomes your personal seamster and will tailor your clothes for free.
Next, he’ll show up near the East Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace, just south of the Bellum Church. Similarly, reset the world by resting at the grace, and Boc should appear. After talking to him, rest again to get extra Boc-related Dialogue with Melina.
Get the Golden Sewing Needle for Boc
While Boc is a blooming seamster in Elden Ring, even he has some limits to his craft. This includes his need for more skills with the threads of the Demigod bosses. However, he still wishes to dabble in such clothes, and to help him realize his dream, you can gift him a Golden Sewing Needle. This will further progress the quest of Boc the Seamster.
You’ll find the Golden Sewing Needle inside a chest in the Church of Vows. Return to Boc and hand him the item. If Boc’s not in his previous location, he’s likely relocated to a new area for the next part of the Seamster’s questline in Elden Ring.
Note: You must carry alterable Demigod armor (Radahn’s armor seems to do the trick) to progress this part of the questline for Boc in Elden Ring.
Elden Ring’s Boc Quest: Boc’s Fate
After giving Boc the Seamster In the box quest line Elden Ring, the Golden Sewing Needle, he relocates to the following two locations where the rest of his quest goes down:
- He appears in the Altus Plateau near the Altus Highway Junction Site of Grace and gives you the “My Lord” gesture.
- Finally, you’ll find him inside Lyndell, Royal Capital, beside the East Capital Rampart Site of Grace.
After meeting him in Lyndell, you’ll uncover Boc’s issue with his self-esteem, and the questline branches into two different fates for him. You can either hand him a Larval Tear or perform the “You’re Beautiful” Prattling Pate in front of him.
Boc the Reborn
The former sees Boc heading towards the Carian Queen, Rennala, where he’s reborn as a human. Sadly, he dies shortly after as he’s not aware of rebirth’s repercussions without the Great Rune of the Unborn. This is the worst outcome for Boc the seamster’s quest in Elden Ring.
Boc the Beautiful
The latter case secures you a playthrough worth of free tailoring. You’ll have to tell Boc he’s beautiful using the Prattling Pate in front of him. You’ll find the item by the entrance to Hermit Village in Mt. Gelmir. This ends with Boc being content with his current looks, concluding his quest. Well, that’s at least better than the dude dying as he gets to live on like he deserves.
