Since airing four years ago on Crunchyroll, Goblin Slayer has become one of the most controversial anime of recent times. Although the story was engaging, and the visuals perfect, the anime was subjected to much criticism for its gory and extreme moments. That aside though, the anime’s first season is still one of the bests in the fantasy genre. On that note, when can we expect to see Goblin Slayer Season 2?
You’ll be glad to know that earlier in 2022; Goblin Slayer Season 2 had officially been confirmed. So the next entry is definitely in the works. Sadly, not a lot of details were revealed about the anime. But it’s great to know that Goblin hunting season is coming back soon enough.

When Is Goblin Slayer Season 2 Releasing?
Though a second season has been confirmed, the release date for Goblin Slayer Season 2 hasn’t been revealed. But if we were to speculate, we’d tell you that it’ll arrive before Fall 2023. The anime has been in production for quite a while and taking that into account, fans itching to see some Goblins being smacked won’t need to wait much longer.
Along with the announcement for Goblin Slayer Season 2, the first key visual for the season was revealed as well. Most expected the series to have been canceled due to the depicted violence, but against the odds, the series pulled through.
Which Studio Will Animate Goblin Slayer Season 2?
Both Goblin Slayer Season 1 and the feature film Goblin’s Crown were brought to life by Studio White Fox. Though no official confirmation as to White Fox reprising the role has yet been given, we’re pretty sure that’s going to be the case again.
The epic contrast and stunning details the studio put in the first season were truly fitting for what you’d expect from a dark fantasy anime. The art direction, character design, and pacing couldn’t have suited the show any better. So it’ll be great if the second season is once again helmed by White Fox.
What Will be the Story of Goblin Slayer Season 2?
If you remember where Goblin Slayer left off, his party and the entire Adventurer’s Guild had just defeated the Goblin Lord and his underlings. Later, everyone gathered in the Guild Hall. And as we were about to finally see the Slayer’s face for the first time, the credits rolled. Next, though, the side events of the Goblin’s Crown film take place.
For Goblin Slayer: Season 2, the manga will introduce new characters. Wizard Boy, a would-be adventurer, seems to be a major addition to the cast. Having a grudge of his own against the Goblins, he bumps into the Goblin Slayer’s squad. And so begins another high-stakes mission that’ll put every adventurer’s life at risk.
Although, take this with a grain of salt as Studio Whitefox did completely reorder season one from the manga. So if Whitefox doesn’t change the order of the manga arcs this time around, then yes, the Wizard Boy part of the storyline should follow next.
Which Volumes of the Manga will Goblin Slayer Adapt?
Here’s where things get a little bit tricky. Whitefox made plenty of changes to the order of the manga arcs so the pacing would flow better for the anime. Specifically, the anime ended on the Goblin Lord Arc and right before that, we had the Sword Maiden Arc. But in the manga, it’s the exact opposite.
The Goblin Lord part ends in chapter 15 of the manga. Then it is succeeded by the Sword Maiden Arc that ends in chapter 29. So if you’re wondering where Goblin Slayer Season 2 will kick off, it’s a hard thing to deduce as of right now. But if our hunch is correct it should pick up from either Volume 6, the one where Wizard Boy is introduced, or from Volume 5, where the group takes on another mission.
Where Can I Watch Goblin Slayer Season 2?
Officially, both Crunchyroll and Funimation licensed the anime. And that still holds true as of this moment. As such, if you’re wondering where Goblin Slayer Season 2 will air, Crunchyroll and Funimation again seem to be the best bet.
Though that doesn’t make other streaming services completely out of the question. Netflix has been improving its anime department quite a lot, so there’s always a chance that season two of Goblin Slayer might end up there as well.
Fortunately enough, Goblin Slayer is finally returning. And like its first season, we can’t imagine what sort of menacing feats we’ll see this time around.
