There are a lot of combat mechanics in Infinite Wealth that you need to use to gain an advantage over your enemies. That is why we will show you how to break guard so that you can get rid of pesky enemies that block your damage.

Veterans of the series will know how to do this but if you are new to the game, worry not because we’ll show you what to do. With that said, let’s jump straight in and get started.

Yakuza 8: How to Break Guard

Certain enemies will use the guard option and block the majority of your damage. This reduces your offense and leaves you vulnerable to damage as well.

To counter this, you will have to break their guard. Even if you use powerful skills, their guard might still be up and they will take reduce damage. So, how do you break the guard?

You will have to use grapple attacks to throw the enemy and break their guard. Even if your main character doesn’t have this ability, you can use one of your party members to do so.

There are tons of characters that you can get early in the game that will help you break the guard of enemies. One example is Adachi – who you get early in the game. Plus, you can use Kiryu’s Beast style to grapple enemies and throw them to the ground as well.

The best part is that breaking their guard will deal a lot of damage and they can’t guard again for a few turns.

If you cannot grapple them, make sure that you position behind them to break their guard. Attacking from the back not only deals additional damage but also guard breaks enemies.
