If you are planning to use a bow and engage in ranged combat, you will need to have tons of arrows in your inventory. Since most enemies have a lot of HP, you will need to use almost all of your arrows to kill them. That is why this guide will show you how to craft arrows in Elden Ring so that you never run out.

To craft arrows, you need to get the Crafting Kit and the relevant Cookbook as well. Then, you can craft them by opening the crafting menu.

You can alternatively purchase arrows from various merchants across the map. However, you might not always be near their location. So, this can make getting arrows from them quite a hassle. With that said, let’s dive right in and get started.

Elden Ring: How to Craft Arrows

The good news is that you can start crafting arrows early in the game. While you won’t be able to craft high-quality arrows from the start, you will have to explore the map to get better arrows. Eventually, you will find arrows that have special effects on them like applying poison.

Get the Crafting Kit and Cookbook

The first step to crafting in Elden Ring is to get the Crafting Kit. As the name suggests, this item allows you to craft items while on the go. Luckily, you can find the kit early in the game. When you start the game, you will have to talk to White-Faced Varre and head to the Church of Elleh in Limgrave.

Talking to Merchant Kale.

Here, you will find Merchant Kale. Talking to him will allow you to purchase various items and learn more about his lore as well. While talking to him, select the “Purchase” option and choose the Crafting Kit. You can get it for 500 Runes.

While you can get to this location in the first 5 minutes of the game, make sure that you avoid the Tree Sentinal boss patrolling the road. This boss is extremely difficult for newer players and you should avoid it until you get your horse or become stronger.

You will also need to get the Nomadic Warrior’s Kit [1] to expand your crafting repertoire. This will allow you to craft Bone Arrows among other things. Plus, you can also buy arrows from Kale as well but it will get expensive the more you want to purchase.

So, it is always better if you craft your own arrows since Kale won’t be available in every area of the game. The more Cookbooks you get, the more crafting options you’ll unlock. Make sure that you explore the Lands Between to ensure that you can craft the strongest type of arrows to make ranged combat easier.

After finding the Crafting Kit, open your menu by pressing “Start” and select “Item Crafting“. From here, you can choose the items that you have access to. Depending on which recipe or cookbook you found, you can craft those items.

Items that are lit up can be crafted while greyed-out items aren’t available yet. You need to ensure that you always have crafting materials so that you can craft various items without any issues. If you do not know which item needs what material, you can always hover over it to find out.

Crafting materials are found across the map in the form of plants, fruits, and other things. The best part is that most types of materials will respawn if you fast travel. So, you can collect as much as you need. Plus, some enemies also drop useful ingredients if you defeat them.

Conclusion

That’s everything you need to know about how to craft arrows in Elden Ring. Finding tons of cookbooks and knowing how to craft arrows is extremely important. You can make useful items that will help you on your journey without finding a merchant or returning to the Roundtable Hold.
