After multiple delays over the years, the open-world action-adventure game, Biomutant is finally available. The launch reception has been a mixed bag, and the reviews are all over the place. User reactions have been mixed on Steam as well, but despite that, the game had a peak player count of over 55K concurrent gamers. While the game runs fine, for the most part, it isn’t perfect in every regard. If you want to fix the Biomutant Ultrawide issue on PC, here is how you can do that.
We have extensively covered Biomutant on the site, and recommend checking out the dedicated section. These include how you can get the airglider, or the fastest way to get a mount. We also recommend checking out technical guides that allow you to disable chromatic aberration, or how you can adjust the FOV.
Fixing the Biomutant Ultrawide Issues
Biomutant’s imperfect ultrawide implementation can cause a zoom-in effect, which is essentially the incorrect vert- FOV scaling. To fix this, PCGamingWiki user Rose has created a patch. To install it, follow the steps below.
- Head over to the following link, and download the ultrawide patch (5.74MB)
- Extract the zip file using compression software like Winrar or 7zip (password: pcgw)
- Now, launch Biomutant (important)
- Press F9 to correct the vertical scaling
That is all you need to do to work out the ultrawide issues in-game. You can check out the screenshot below provided by the author to see the patch in action.
Players that wish to manually adjust the FOV can follow this detailed guide on how to do so. Since the game is running on Unreal Engine 4, most of its settings can be adjusted using the configuration files. We hope that developers can implement a fix in-game so players don’t have to use external patches at all. Ultrawide support in recent games has been a hit and miss, which is a shame because many PC gamers are moving towards these setups.
We hope this guide helped you adjust the Biomutant FOV. Let us know if you have any questions in the comments below.
