FIFA 22

FIFA 22 is the latest entry in the iconic football series from Electronic Arts. This is a yearly release and introduces improvements to the previous entry. FIFA 22 is available on a wide variety of platforms, including PC. While FIFA used to be available only on Origin, recently EA has been releasing their titles on Steam as well. The game runs well for the most part, but a few users have been getting certain crashes. If you are running into the IFA 22 crash at language select issue, here is how you can fix that.

The game has Mostly Positive reviews from Steam users, which is far better than what Konami’s eFootball 2022 received. It seems that despite the free-to-play model from Konami, FIFA is here to stay.

Fixing the FIFA 22 crash at language select

Multiple users over at Steam, and EA forums have reported that their game crashes at the “Select Language” screen. Thankfully, it seems both users, and the support teams have provided a solution, that has been working for most users. To fix this issue, follow the method below.

Change your Origin Username/Nickname

This has been confirmed by multiple users to have worked. Basically, if you have a series of numbers in your username, that might be causing the problem. Regardless, changing your current username to something else can potentially fix the issue. To do this, follow the steps below.

  • Open Origin, and click on your Profile
  • Here, click on the Edit on EA.com button
Edit on EA.com Button in Origin
  • Here, simply edit your username, and change it to something different than your current one
  • Relaunch the game, and it should be fixed

As you can see, this is the current solution recommended by the support staff (not EA) as well.
