Humankind is the latest strategy title from AMPLITUDE Studios and SEGA. This is their take on the historical setting, and one of the most anticipated titles of the year. The reception has been positive by both critics and fans. Sadly, the launch has been met with some technical issues, especially for gamers that took part in previous betas. If you are running into the Humankind stuck at loading issue, here is how you can fix that.
The title is available on both Steam and Epic Games Store. The game is clearly inspired by the Civilization series, and it will be a while before people can really start to compare both series.
Fixing the Humankind stuck at loading issue
There are a few technical issues that players are running into at the moment. We have written a few guides so far to address these, including the crash at launch, as well as the game not running at all. All these issues have similar culprits, but if you are running into the initial loading stuck at 90%, here is how you can fix that.
Delete the conflicting folder
Similar to the crash at launch issue, if you are stuck at loading, following the steps below. These steps have been recommended by the developers.
- Head over to the following location (basically the Documents folder in Windows)
\Users[username]\Documents\
- Delete the Humankind folder here
- Relaunch the game
This issue is common for people that had previously taken part in the OpenDev scenarios or the Closed Beta.
Update DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables
Ensure that both DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables are on the latest version. This is especially common for players that have Logitech RGB software installed.
If none of these work for you, please try out the possible fixes in the articles we linked above for Humankind. The developers are aware of the major issues players are running into, and hopefully, a patch is on the way.
We hope this guide helped fix your Humankind stuck at loading issue. Let us know if you have any questions in the comments below.
