How to get Spectral Pages in Destiny 2‘s Festival of the Lost has been the question on everyone’s lips for the last two iterations of the events. In years gone by, we had Wrathborn Hunts to help take the grind out of Destiny 2‘s yearly Halloween event. This year, we don’t have access to that activity, meaning we need to come up with a new Spectral Page farm.

Lucky for you, I’ve done a little bit of testing, and I think I’ve found the new best way to get Spectral Pages in Destiny 2. I’m going to go over how you get them in general, then I’ll talk about my experience with potential farms and what I consider to be the best.

Spectral Pages are, in essence, a seasonal currency. They act the same way that Treasure Coordinates do. That means that they are earned out in the world while completing various activities with a Festival of the Lost mask equipped. There’s no specific thing you need to do to get Spectral Pages in Destiny 2 – you just have to play the game.

Strikes, Crucible, Gambit, and even Ketchcrash all award Spectral Pages on completion. How much you earn varies year-to-year and activity to activity, but in general, you can expect to earn between three and five Spectral Pages for every activity you complete. For example, I finished a Master Ketchcrash and got four pages. I also got four from completing a Strike beforehand.

Given that it takes nine Manifested Pages to unlock one page in the Book of the Forgotten, you can see just how grindy this can get – which is why it’s important to have some sort of go-to farm to earn Spectral Pages.

In the past, the answer to ‘how to get Spectral Pages in Destiny 2‘ was simple – it was Wrathborn Hunts. We don’t have them anymore, so we’re going to need to get a bit more creative.

From some early testing, I can tell you not to try farm Legendary Lost Sectors. I finished a Legendary run of Bunker E15 and was awarded one measly page for my worries – so that’s a no-go.

However, there is one easy and quick-to-complete activity that awards three pages per run – and that’s Public Events.

It seems that Public Events are our saving grace every single time a grindy seasonal event comes around – and this year is no different. Once again, Public Events are the best way to get Spectral Pages in Destiny 2.

One Heroic Public Event will net you around three pages and shouldn’t take you more than a handful of minutes to complete, depending on the event and if you have people with you.

In the past, Bungie has been quick to nerf the effectiveness of farms when it comes to seasonal events, so it’s possible that they’ll reduce the effectiveness of Public Event Spectral Page farming in the future. For now, though, they’re by far the easiest way to get Spectral Pages.

Of course, you don’t have to farm and grind out Festival of the Lost 2022 if you don’t want to. As I mentioned before, Strikes will run you around four pages, so you could just play the game normally.

Sure, you won’t complete the Book of the Forgotten nearly as quickly, but it will help you get a bit more mileage out of the event.
