The game features three keycards so far: Maintenance keycard, VIP keycard, and Guest keycard. We will show you how to find the Maintenance keycard so that you can progress the story. With that said, let’s dive right in and get started.
Sons of the Forest: How to Get the Maintenance Keycard
To get the Maintenance keycard, you need to head to the green pulse location as seen in the image above. Here, you will find a patch of dirt with a shovel icon on top of it. Use your shovel – which you can find in a cave near the center of the map – and dig until you see a hatch.
Open the hatch – with Maintenance A written on it – and you will access an underground bunker. Here, you can explore the area to find various loot and a keycard. Picking up the keycard will play a small animation and place the item in your inventory.
The good news is that you do not have to access your inventory when you have to use this card. It will be automatically used whenever it needs to be.
If you find all this too advanced, do not worry about getting these cards early in the game. They will only come into play when you have to explore the underground labs where you will uncover some of the secrets of the island.
During the early game, try to survive and explore what the island – and the game – has to offer.
