Unlike previous games, The Sims 4 features individual calories for every food type in the game. So, if you are not careful, your sim might gain weight the more they eat. That is why this guide will show you how to lose (and gain) weight in The Sims 4.

Gaining weight can be slightly quicker than losing it (just like in real life for the most part). If your sim gained a lot of weight recently and you want to help them get fit, worry not because we’ve got you covered. With that said, let’s dive right in and get started.

How to Gain Weight in The Sims 4

If you eat tons of food without being active, you will gain weight like in real life.

Since the game features an in-depth food system, you will get a lot of Sims 4 weight gain over time if they eat many foods high in fat, sugar, and other unhealthy ingredients. Plus, if they consume tons of food and sit around without exercising, they will gain weight.

As you play the game, you will start to notice that your sim is getting fatter and has habits that will keep them away from exercise. Worry not because no matter how obese your sim gets, they will not fall victim to any heart or other diseases.

Keep in mind that your sims will naturally gain weight when they are pregnant.

How to Lose Weight in Sims 4

Running on the treadmill for a few minutes daily will help your sim lose weight.

If your sim has gained weight, worry not because you can help them lose it in a matter of days (or weeks in some cases). Just like in real life, you will have to make your sim exercise for a few minutes daily. Depending on how much weight they put on, they will have to exercise that much.

Ideally, you need to use the treadmill or jog for a few minutes daily. This will give you good results and your sim will eventually lose weight and become thinner. While on the treadmill, you can select the ‘push limits‘ option to lose weight faster.

Keep in mind that your sims might feel muscle fatigue if they are working out for the first few times. However, if you keep this up, they will eventually love exercising and will run on the treadmill or use other machines themselves.

And there you have it; that’s everything you need to know about how to lose (and gain) weight in The Sims 4. Unlike previous entries in the franchise, your sim doesn’t have to overeat in order to gain weight. However, you can quickly lose weight as well by working out daily for a few minutes.
