Terraria has an abundance of crafting stations for different crafting trees. This guide will show you how to make the Loom to create armor and other things from Silk. The Loom will allow you to create functional armor to vanity clothing, along with an accessory for Yoyo wielders.

Guide on How To Make a Loom in Terraria

Making a loom will require you to gather some resources from both the surface and underground. That said, the materials needed are reasonably easy to obtain.

Here are the ingredients you need to take to make a Loom in a nutshell:

  • Wood – 37
  • Gel – 1
  • Iron/Lead Ore – 24 (will make 8 Iron/Lead Bars)
  • Stone – 20

With these ingredients on hand, you’re ready to make your very first Loom!

1

Making Your Basic Stations

terraria workbench furnace anvil
  • Workbench – Wood x 10 (Hand Recipe)
  • Torch x 3 – Gel x 1, Wood x 1 (Hand Recipe)
  • Furnace – Stone x 20, Wood x 4, Torch x 3 (Workbench Recipe)
  • Iron/Lead Bar x 5 – Iron/Lead Ore x 15 (Furnace Recipe)
  • Anvil – Iron/Lead Bar x 5 (Workbench Recipe)

The first thing you’ll need to build is a Workbench. This is Terraria’s most basic crafting station, responsible for hundreds of recipes in the game. With this item, you’ll be making both the Furnace and the Anvil to process the Iron/Lead Ore you collected.

The basic order for crafting would be Workbench > Furnace > Anvil.

2

Creating a Sawmill

  • Sawmill – Wood x 10, Iron/Lead Bar x 2, Chain x 1

The Sawmill is your required crafting station if you want to learn how to make a loom in Terraria. This station is responsible for most wooden decorations in the game. It is also the required station for crafting non-wood decorations, implying that the Sawmill can cut through stone and alien metal.

Crafting the Sawmill requires all the three stations we created in the first step: the Furnace for the 3 Iron/Lead Bars; the Anvil for making one of the Iron/Lead Bars into Chains; and the Workbench to assemble the Sawmill itself.

Obtaining the Loom

  • Recipe: Wood x 10 (Sawmill Recipe)

Once we have all the necessary crafting stations made, all that’s left is to place down the Sawmill and craft the Loom with 10 pieces of Wood. This will now unlock the Loom for you which is a required item in getting the Crafty achievement for PS4 and Xbox versions.

If you don’t feel like crafting your own Loom, you can always journey through Underground Cabins and find one there at a very common rate.

Conclusion

Overall, the Loom is a very popular crafting station to make, especially since the addition of fan-made vanity outfits in version 1.4. Following these simple steps will teach you how to make a Loom in Terraria in no time.
