How to Use Magic in Elden Ring

Magic is extremely strong in Elden Ring. Due to that, many players want to go for a mage build that uses sorceries to deal damage. If you do not know how to properly use magic in Elden Ring, worry not because we’ve got you covered.

To use magic, you need to have high intelligence and need to have a staff to cast the spell. Like melee weapons, the staff will be counted as a weapon that you can use to deal damage.

If you want to know how to memorize multiple spells so that you can use all of them during combat, continue reading to find out.

How to Use Sorceries in Elden Ring

Using spells is quite easy in Elden Ring. However, if you are new to magic builds, you might be a bit confused about what to do. Worry not because we will show you everything you need to do step by step. We will also talk about some of the good staves that you can use and a few powerful spells as well.

Memorize Spells

There are tons of spells that you can find across the world of Elden Ring. Every spell requires you to have a different level of intelligence before you can memorize it. You will have a limited number of slots to which you can assign different spells to.

If you want to increase your slots, make sure that you find all the Memory Stones in the game. Doing so will give you a total of 10 Memory Slots. If you want to change your memorized spells, you need to do it the same way as you memorized them.

Go to any Site of Grace and rest at it. Then, choose the “Memorize Spell” option and select which slot you need to assign a spell to. Choose the spell and you will now learn it. You can swap between spells during combat like you would change armaments.

How to Use Spells

After learning the spells that you want, you can use them freely. Make sure that you have a staff equipped. When using a staff, it will cast your currently equipped memorized spell. This will cost FP so make sure that you have a lot of charges in your Flask of Cerulean Tears.

While you can gain FP while resting at any Site of Grace, you need to use the Flask during boss fights. Otherwise, if you are going for a magic build, you won’t deal damage with melee attacks. Plus, you will find stronger spells the more you progress in the game.

So, make sure that you level up your Intelligence and Mind stats to make the most out of magic in Elden Ring. The more Mind stat you put points in, the more FP you will have.

Conclusion

That’s everything you need to know about how to use magic in Elden Ring. The game offers tons of strong sorceries that you can use, so, make sure that you try all of them to see which one suits you best. Plus, you can always change them anyways so it’s better to find out which sorcery works well for you.
