Salt and Sacrifice

Salt and Sacrifice is an upcoming 2D Souls-like from Ska Studios. It is a follow-up to the hit title, Salt and Sanctuary that came out in 2016. Salt and Sacrifice is headed to PC via the Epic Games Store, PS4, and PS5. Fans of the original will be delighted to know that this new entry also features cooperative play. Currently, the title is also coming to PlayStation platforms, and we’re not sure what the status of the exclusivity deal is. Though, is Salt and Sacrifice Cross Platform? Here is everything you need to know about it.

For now, the game is coming to PC via the Epic Games Store. It hasn’t been announced or listed for Steam. Most Epic exclusives tend to launch on Steam after a year, and considering the first one is there, we expect this to eventually make its way to the platform as well.

Is Salt and Sacrifice Cross Platform?

Salt and Sacrifice supports cross platform play between PS4 and the PS5 at launch. I couldn’t find this information online, or on their website, but I got a response from one of the developers on Twitter. You can read it below.

This is a very clear response from them, and it’s nice to hear that there is cross-gen crossplay from launch. This means that if you own a PS4, you can still play with your friends who are on the PS5. However, if you are on PC, and want to play with either of the console players, you won’t be able to do that.

Though it is reassuring to hear that they might look into it after launch, so there’s always a chance that they’ll add the option. We are very excited to see what the game offers, and how it improves on the first entry.

Check out the release date announcement trailer below.

If you are interested in the PC version, make sure to check out the system requirements as well.

We hope this answered your question regarding Salt and Sacrifice’s cross platform capabilities. Are you excited about the upcoming Souls-like? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
