Taking to a thread on Reddit, the developers have clarified on the situation regarding the recent announce of Baldurs Gate 3 being exclusive for the PlayStation 5 when it comes to the console release. Many people immediately speculated that this was due to Sony’s marketing tactics again and that it was a silent console exclusive, however, the developer made a statement on reddit and cleared up the misconception.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Will Come to Xbox When The Time Is Right
Taking to a thread on Reddit in the game’s subreddit, the developers have confirmed that the game is indeed coming to the Xbox after all, but it needed to be fixed and optimized for the console. There is no exclusivity deal in place and rumors of such are now being proven false.
They have confirmed that there is no platform exclusivity or any marketing deal preventing them from releasing the title to other platforms, it was simply an issue of the work-in-progress version for the Xbox version not being up to the mark that they chose not to announce an Xbox version yet.
Perhaps later in the future we will get news on the port, but for now this should put fans to rest when seeing the return of a classic franchise after so many years.
