It seems that yesterday’s news of Silent Hill: The Short Message wasn’t enough for fans, as horror games leaker, Dusk Golem has made a claim that there are 3 other titles in development alongside the 4 already announced titles. With The Short Message being one of them, it seems that Konami is bringing their much-beloved IP back from the dead at full speed.
Even more Silent Hill games are in development
In a post by Dusk Golem on ResetEra forums, the user hints that there are indeed 3 other projects in development currently that were not part of the earlier 4 announced titles: Silent Hill f, Ascension, Townfall, and the Remake.
“There’s at least three Silent Hill projects which haven’t been announced yet, not including the Short Message. Yes, really. But one of them is in very early development. ” – Dusk Golem
After more than a decade of silence, it seems Konami is going full steam ahead on reviving their long forgotten IP’s. After the release of Metal Gear Solid V at the start of the previous console generation, and a few remasters of some classic titles, Konami did little in terms of releasing any other proper first-party titles.
It seems this generation is their comeback arc, and with an earlier rumor of a potential new Metal Gear Solid title, 2023 could be a very prominent year for the developer/publisher.
We learned a lot about Silent Hill: The Short Message from yesterday’s leak, what we didn’t learn however was whether the game is really a demo, or will it be something else entirely. Konami has yet to officially announce the title, but we can hope that something happens for it next year.
