The Subwoofer features a clean aesthetic design

Since we’ve already reviewed the Soundbar in isolation, we’re not going to be spending much time talking about it. However, for a quick refresher, we found the aesthetic quite appealing. The dimensions were far from jarring and the overall mesh look alongside the relatively timid branding gave it a very classy appearance.

Now, moving on to the main star of the show, the subwoofer. If you’ve ever had the chance of looking at subwoofers, you must’ve had a simple thought – don’t they all look eerily similar? Well, in most cases, they do. However, that’s where Majority’s subwoofer differentiates itself.

Possessing the same subtle branding as its soundbar compadre, it aims to bring in a more premium vibe to your TV lounge. While still being relatively large, its black finish allows it to almost blend into the background while the bass does most of the talking (more on that later).

With a focus on quality, we found no real creaking, wobbling, or gaps throughout the entire construction. The matte black profile allowed the subwoofer to fill in with the soundbar providing the entire room with a luxurious aura.

Sound Quality

The Majority Sierra Plus remains one of the only audio solutions that also provide Dolby Atmos at a very reasonable price point. Worry not though, you get more than what you paid for in terms of both loudness and clarity from the Sierra Plus.

We were already quite happy with the 280 Watts of performance the soundbar delivered. However, the icing on the cake was the subwoofer that was now amping up everything to a total output of 400 Watts. Needless to say, the bass was exhilarating – but didn’t feel overbearing to the slightest.

Even at full volume and having played around the equalizer, we still couldn’t get the subwoofer to produce any sort of crackling. While our neighbors certainly weren’t happy with the booming sound coming through our office, we definitely were.

All jokes aside though, with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, you literally do feel the direction of the sound coming all around you. And, with that said, there’s hardly a competitor product that offers the same package at this price point.

Movie Performance

We’ve already talked about the soundbar’s performance when it comes to games. However, with that added subwoofer, how does the Sierra Plus perform in movies? From action to horror, the bass presented that extra oomph that the soundbar missed.

While there wasn’t a lot of change in terms of the surround sound, we couldn’t really identify what direction the bass was coming from either. However, all in all, the included punch to the sound helped with the overall experience.

There are a few presets available right from the get-go that you should definitely check out depending on what you are viewing. In fact, our previous review highlighted the lack of bass in the soundbar – something now remedied with the inclusion of the subwoofer.

In its default setting, the sound felt crisp, with a bit of a heavy emphasis on the bass. A few tweaks later though, and we got to fine-tune the audio experience to exactly the way we liked it. But, for most consumers, you’ll be more than happy with the default preset, great!

Is The Majority Sierra Plus Worth It?

Alright, so we’ve already acclimated and agreed to the fact that the Majority Sierra – the model without the soundbar is definitely worth it. However, does the inclusion of a subwoofer make this product more appealing?

In short, yes. In our opinion, the subwoofer adds some much-needed depth to the sound that a soundbar physically can’t provide. While once again, don’t expect anything audiophile-level, you certainly get closer to that dream with the inclusion of the deep-end.

Plus, if you are ecologically conscious, there’s an added bonus that purchasing a Majority product provides. They’ve partnered up with Ecologi to create Majority Forest. And, with every product sold: a tree is planted in the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil alongside solar power projects in Tamil Nadu and Telangana, India.

All in all, we’ve been very happy with our experience with Majority, they’ve produced great products that have set the bar for various other competitors at this highly reasonable price point!
