Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a tactical-roleplaying game in which you control and command a team of superheroes defending against Lilith. Lilith is a resurrected witch trying to obtain the Darkhold, corrupting anyone in her path. You might think that this game has many similarities with XCom, which is true because Firaxis Games developed both games.

Pet the Animals

Charlie the dog and Ebony the cat freely roam around the Abbey grounds, and you are advised to pet them. If you interact with Charlie for 15 days straight without missing a single day, you can earn The Best Girl trophy, which is covered in our extensive guide on how to obtain all the achievements.

Praising Charlie

Charlie and Ebony both give different rewards when petted. Charlie allows you to level up your friendship with her daily, which will upgrade her ability.

Although Ebony likes to move around the Abbey, finding Ebony will require some time. Ebony provides random rewards such as leveling up your heroes, boosting a stat on the Hunter, or healing all of your injured heroes immediately. These might not sound much, but they are better than nothing. So make sure to look around each and every day to find her.

Complete Daily Chores

You can complete many tasks around the Abbey, such as sparring in the Yard with your teammates or crafting new and improved cards at the Forge, but these tasks become unavailable after you finish a mission. You can’t interact with the Yard, the Forge, or C.E.N.T.R.A.L. at night, so remember to use them during the day!

Shuffle Your Cards

Shuffling your abilities is always better because some abilities are more practical at different mission stages, like having a high-cost heroic card at the start of the round pretty much useless.

Don’t succumb to combo abilities because your heroes will often get swarmed by enemies rather quickly while you are trying to utilize the opportunity for a combo.

Instead, try to use your abilities and cards as soon as you have the chance so that new cards can come into your deck.

Move Your Heroes

When in combat, you can move a hero once per turn to any position on the battlefield. Characters can move around freely and have an unlimited range.

Move your hero to line up enemies for chain attacks, knockback damage, and heroic abilities. If you accidentally moved a hero to a place by misclicking, you can always move them back or to a new location. The game won’t count the turn unless you use a card.

Remember that you can chain your attacks. So, plan out your cards to have your hero finish their attack at the spot you want them to be so that they can continue the attack or avoid taking damage from an enemy.

Strategize Properly

You’ll face off against many villains on missions in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. If you have forgotten what an enemy does, are facing him for the first time, or want to learn his weakness, hover your mouse over him, and you will be able to see all the information.

Be On the Lookout

Minions and Elites display in advance which character they will target by displaying it on top of their heads. If one or more of your heroes are low on health, make sure to kill the enemy targeting them first, so they do not get K.O.’d. You can get their attention by taunting them.

Have the Best Team

Before you start a mission, always read the mission’s objective and description so that you can take the best team possible for that scenario. In Marvel’s Midnight Suns, like MMO RPGs, heroes in this game have roles such as tanks, damage dealers, supports, and more.

Outside the Abbey

Some roles will be more beneficial depending on the mission. For example, the “Protect Hydra Device” mission, which has you stopping the Hydra forces from destroying the device, bringing a tank that can taunt the opponents is essential because it will help take the enemy’s attention away from the device.

Explore The Abbey

Exploring the Abbey can be skipped and optional, but playing around and interacting with various items on the Abbey will help you on your missions because you can communicate with your teammates, increasing friendship levels, which can get you better cards.

Inside The Abbey

There is much to do around the Abbey: You can spar with fellow heroes, complete side quests, which give you better cards, and learn the backstories of multiple heroes in your team. Everything you do around the grounds will provide you with various rewards. This is one of the reasons why many players often spend most of their time exploring the Abbey. There is so much to explore here.
