Minecraft Legends

Minecraft Legends is the latest addition to the Minecraft universe of games and blends action and strategy to create a unique experience. It is available on PC through Steam and Xbox App and Xbox consoles. The PC version isn’t very demanding, but if you’re struggling to get a proper framerate, we have you covered. Here are the best graphics settings for Minecraft Legends that you should try to improve your experience.

This isn’t a very demanding title, and even with a GTX 1060, you should be able to run it fine for the most part. Either way, if you fall somewhere in the middle here or want to play at higher resolutions with better framerate, you’ll need to make a few adjustments.

Graphics Settings (Maximum FPS Optimization)

Minecraft Legends doesn’t have a lot of settings to adjust. Only one actual setting called “Rendering detail level” handles everything when it comes to quality. This is a bit disappointing, but it makes the recommendation quite simple, considering how well it runs.

If you have even a slightly capable GPU, you can leave the “Rendering detail level” at Ultra and call it a day, but if you’re looking for a bit more FPS with minimal quality loss, you can set it to High, which still looks great. This change from Ultra to High improved my FPS by 21%.

Turning things down from High to Medium will reduce the render distance, foliage quality, and shadow depth, but it doesn’t look that bad. This will give you a significant framerate boost, however, and improved my FPS by 40%.

Minecraft Legends at Medium Rendering Detail Level
Medium Rendering Detail Level

I don’t recommend Low, however, because that makes the game look empty and devoid of life.

Minecraft Legends at Low Rendering Detail Level
Low Rendering Detail Level

I’ve tested Minecraft Legends on a Ryzen 5 3600 paired with an RTX 3060 with 16 GB of RAM. This game was installed on an SSD, and I’m using 1080p as my target resolution. Here are the results of each level of detail.

Rendering Detail LevelAverage Framerate
Ultra135 FPS
High164 FPS
Medium231 FPS
Low248 FPS

Overall, the most significant increase is clearly by reducing this setting down to Medium, but if you’re getting a decent enough framerate, I recommend sticking to High for the best balance of visuals and performance.
