The official Warner Bros. Twitter account has just confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 Cross-Play will not be present on day one for the game, and will come after launch. We saw this earlier but with official confirmation now from Warner Bros to help cement the rumor.
Mortal Kombat 1 Cross-Play – Will Launch Later
In a tweet by the company, they confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 Cross-Play will come later for the title, meaning on launch you will only be paired with players on the same platform.
Cross Play was a big feature in Mortal Kombat 1 allowing console and PC players to play against each other. Allowing for faster matchmaking, the ability for friends on different platforms to have friendly matches with each other and more. The exclusion of this feature on launch is an odd choice, but perhaps it’s for the better.
While there is no official date to share when the feature will be added, we can hope that it doesn’t take too long to be added.
The game is coming on September 19th for the PS5, Xbox Series, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
Let us know if you’re still getting the game with this new development.
