CS:GO skins have been around for a long time. Over the years, numerous skins have been traded in various marketplaces for cash. Some people have even made a ton of money while playing the game by simply selling CS:GO skins.

At this point, it’s no surprise that CS:GO skins can get pretty expensive. But did you know how much they can actually sell for? You might be shocked at how much money people are willing to pay just to get the rarest CS:GO skins in their inventory.

Join us as we take a look at 15 of the most expensive CS:GO skins of all time.

1

Karambit Case Hardened (Blue Gem)

The most expensive CS:GO Weapon skin Karambit Case Hardened.

Yes, you’ve read that right. A Karambit Case Hardened, Factory New can be worth over $100,000. This extremely rare knife is one of a kind, with a wear rating of 0.0480 and pattern template 387. This specific knife is called the ā€œBlue Gemā€ because it literally appears completely blue on one side.

The ā€œBlue Gemā€ Karambit was purchased a few years ago for nearly $100,000. Since then, the value has exploded. Newb Rage, the owner of the knife, reportedly received an offer for well over $1.4M but turned it down. Imagine being offered $1.4M for an in-game skin.

At this point, it’s unclear if the owner has an asking price in mind, or if he actually plans to sell it. Still, $1.4M for a CS:GO skin is by far the most has anyone offered. If the sale ever comes through in the future, it will become the most expensive CS:GO weapon skins to be purchased.

We’re getting into the slightly less expensive but still more than my entire life savings territory. The Moto Gloves Spearmint has listings of around $11,000 to $13,000. However, the Battle-Scarred conditions can be bought at a more reasonable $200 average.

The Moto Gloves Spearmint was released as a part of the Brothers In Arms update on November 28, 2016. It can only be found inside the Glove Case or the Operation Hydra Case. KRIMZ, NiKo, and Maniac are known to own this skin, and it is truly a flex when they wear them in-game.

The M4A4 Howl in Factory New condition can sell for around $5100. It’s currently one of the most expensive M4A4 skins, especially if you’re looking to get the StatTrakā„¢ FN version which has a current asking price of over $12,000.

It features a custom-painted image of a snarling wolf with a red and black finish all over the gun. It’s part of the Huntsman Collection, released in 2014. A reason why the value is super high is that the original artist issued a DMCA takedown of the skin. Because of this, the skin was only available for a short amount of time.

The AWP Gungnir was released on November 18, 2019, as a part of the Norse Collection.

An AWP Gungnir in Factory New condition has a listing price of around $9,000. The cheapest Battle-Scarred condition will still cost you a hefty sum of $3,900. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a StatTrakā„¢ variant. My guess is that a StatTrakā„¢ FN AWP Gungnir would’ve been somewhere close to $18,000.

How is a CS:GO Skin’s Worth Evaluated?

A CS:GO skin’s worth is evaluated based on a few metrics. The price of a skin can change depending on its condition, rarity, and variation. These factors are the main driving force behind the value of a CS:GO skin.

Unlike Valorant skins, CS:GO skins have their own economy that works similarly to ours. The price of something is worth how much people are willing to pay for it. The Law of Supply and Demand is primarily used to determine a skin’s worth.

Excellent skin conditions, exclusive or rare skins, and StatTrakā„¢or Souvenir variations have a limited supply. Because of the limited supply, these skins end up having a higher demand which in turn increases prices.

If there isn’t enough demand for a skin and there are too many available in the market, the prices get lowered until the supply and demand meet at a balanced point.

Here’s a quick summary of how the Law of Supply and Demand works in CS:GO.

  • High supply with low demand = low skin prices
  • High supply with high demand = balanced skin prices
  • Low supply with high demand = high skin prices

Conclusion

And that ends the list of the most expensive CS:GO skins of all time. Were you surprised that the Karambit Case Hardened (Blue Gem) is the most expensive CS:GO weapon skin and can cost more than $1.5 million? Whoever unboxed that literal gem might be the luckiest person on earth.

It’s insane to see how much the different CS:GO skins can sell for. It might be time to check your old Steam account and see if you have any old unopened cases. You never know, you just might unbox a rare item and get some unexpected profit.
