It’s crazy to think that skins within a game can sell for thousands of dollars. Who would’ve thought that a 2014 skin would be worth more than a car in 2022? There are people out there who actually spend thousands of dollars just for a single skin in CS:GO.

CS:GO is one of the world’s oldest and best tactical shooter games. The entire Counter-Strike franchise has been around since the early 2000s, and the developers have continued to improve the game ever since.

It’s no surprise that CS:GO has a huge fan base. It’s one of the earliest FPS esports games that people supported and liked playing. Today, it’s a behemoth in the gaming and esports industry together with games like League of Legends and Dota 2. The past PGL Major CS:GO tournament broke all-time records for the game, getting over 2.74M peak viewers.

CS:GO skins have their own economy. The value and worth change depending on the current market supply and demand, among other factors. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the most expensive CS:GO skins.

Most Expensive CS:GO Skins 2022

There are a lot of different things that can affect the value of a CS:GO skin. Obviously, one factor is the skin itself and its rarity. Skins also have conditions from Factory New down to Battle-Scared, which greatly affects its value as well. Finally, we have add-ons like stickers that can greatly increase the value of the skin, depending on the rarity of the stickers and their relevance to the skin.

Usually, Factory New (FN) skins sell the most since they are very rare to get and are in perfect condition. There are a lot of skin collectors all-over the world. Some are professional players, content creators, while some just enjoy playing and collecting CS:GO skins.

Creating a 100% accurate list will be tough since prices fluctuate often, and some expensive CS:GO skins can only be found within private inventories. But, we’ll definitely do our best and try to find the most expensive CS:GO skins to date.

To make things a bit easier, we’ll only be including the base CS:GO skins without any stickers that can increase/decrease their value. Some skins on this list will also only include offers and appraisals since some aren’t even available in the market.

Now that we’ve established some ground rules, here’s the full list of the most expensive CS:GO skins

Karambit Case Hardened Blue Gem, Factory New ~Over $100,000

Most expensive CS:GO skin

Yes, you’ve read that right. A Karambit Case Hardened, Factory New can be worth over $100,000. Each Case Hardened Karambit has a unique pattern that adds to its value. Common patterns that have a Factory New condition can sell for around $3000-$4000 and even higher for StatTrak™ versions.

This extremely rare knife is one of a kind, with a wear rating of 0.0480 and pattern template 387. This specific knife is called the “Blue Gem” because it literally appears completely blue on one side.

The “Blue Gem” Karambit was purchased a few years ago for nearly $100,000. Since then, the value has exploded. Newb Rage, the owner of the knife, reportedly received an offer for well over $1.4M but turned it down. Imagine being offered $1.4M for an in-game skin.

At this point, it’s unclear if the owner has an asking price in mind, or if he actually plans to sell it. Still, $1.4M for a CS:GO skin is by far the most has anyone offered. If the sale ever comes through in the future, it will become the most expensive CS:GO skin to be purchased.

Souvenir AWP Dragon Lore, Factory New ~$26,000

most expensive CS:GO skin for AWP

The AWP or Magnum Sniper Rifle is one of the most popular guns in CS:GO. This is why the skins on this thing go for insane prices as well. The AWP is an iconic weapon that provided us with tons of amazing and impossible plays. It’s fitting that an AWP skin will be one of the most valuable skins within the game.

The Dragon Lore AWP skin features a red fire-breathing dragon with a beige-ish finish giving it that ancient look. A Souvenir Dragon Lore, Factory New without any stickers, can go for $26,000. There are even some listings close to $50,000. With the right stickers, this AWP skin can easily be worth around $60,000 or even more.

The Souvenir Dragon Lore skin is part of the Cobblestone Collection that was introduced back in 2014. A Souvenir AWP Dragon Lore skin can only be dropped during the Major tournament and was calculated to have around a 0.0004% drop rate.

The Souvenir Dragon Lore is one of the rarest skins in the game, which is why it has such as high value.

StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet Crimson Web, Factory New ~$9300

most expensive CS:GO skin for Bayonet

Next, we have the M9 Bayonet Crimson Web skin. The M9 Bayonet is another knife. It’s intended to be mounted on a rifle but also excels in close-quarters combat. The Crimson Web M9 Bayonet covers the knife in a red base coat with a spider-web pattern and a semi-gloss topcoat.

A StatTrak™ weapon in CS:GO adds a kill counter to your weapon. This means that every time you kill someone, your StatTrak™ counter increases. With StatTrak™you can keep tabs on the number of kills you get.

StatTrak™ weapons are more expensive than non- StatTrak™ weapons for obvious reasons. A StatTrak™ M9 Bayonet Crimson Web Factory New knife can easily be worth upwards of $10,000. It looks clean and is a fan favorite. It’s hands down one of the most expensive knives in the game.

StatTrak™ Karambit Crimson Web, Factory New ~$9000

Crimson Web Karambit

Usually, Karambits are more expensive than other knives. They are a fan favorite and look cool in-game. They have a unique animation when you walk around with them or swing them, which adds to their appeal.

We’ve already seen that the M9 Bayonet Crimson Web can go for thousands of dollars. Well, it’s brother the StatTrak™ Karambit Crimson Web, Factory New is no different. This Karambit can cost you around $9000 in Factory New condition.

A specific StatTrak™ Karambit Crimson Web actually sold for $50,000 a few years ago. It had a specific pattern that made the spider web more visible when using the knife. Although it probably won’t sell at that price today, it’s still a super expensive knife that deserves to be on this list. I’ll definitely be spamming my knife button on my keyboard if I ever buy this knife.

StatTrak™ AK-47 Fire Serpent, Factory New ~$8500

most expensive CS:GO skin for AK-47

Next up, we have our first rifle on the list. It’s the AK-47 Fire Serpent. The AK-47 is usually considered as the better rifle because it can one-tap a person from any distance. It’s a very valuable weapon, and most CS:GO professional players prefer it over their M4A4 or M4A1-S counterpart.

Because the AK-47 is a coveted weapon, its skins are very expensive as well. The StatTrak™ AK-47 Fire Serpent Factory New without any stickers is easily worth $8500 simply because of its rarity and age.

However, a StatTrak™ AK-47 Fire Serpent with 4 iBuyPower Katowice 2014 stickers was reportedly on sale for around $80,000. So these Fire Serpent skins can get very expensive, depending on the condition and stickers.

It’s a good-looking skin that’s painted with a fire serpent motif. It was part of the Bravo Collection that was released back in 2014. It’s currently one of the most expensive AK-47 skins in the market today.

StatTrak™ M4A4 Howl, Factory New ~$8000

most expensive CS:GO skin for M4A4

Of course, we can’t talk about the AK-47 without its Counter-Terrorist counterpart. The StatTrak™ M4A4 Howl in Factory New condition can sell for around $8000. It’s not that far behind from the Fire Serpent AK-47 we talked about earlier.

I personally feel like the M4A4 Howl is one of the better-looking skins on this list. It features a custom-painted image of a snarling wolf with a red and black finish all over the gun. It’s part of the Huntsman Collection, released in 2014.

The skin isn’t actually super rare, but it’s a very popular skin that a lot of players like to use. This is why the value is super high. Even one in a lower condition can easily cost you 4 digits.

Another reason why the value is super high is because the original artist issued a DMCA takedown of the skin. Because of this, the skin was only available for a short amount of time, and only the players who had already received the skin got to keep it.

It’s definitely not the most expensive skin on this list, but it’ll still set you back a couple thousand dollars if you want it.

StatTrak™ Five-Seven Case Hardened, Factory New ~$6000

Case Hardened Five-Seven

We have our first and only pistol appearance on our list. The Five-Seven is a semi-automatic pistol with a good fire rate, good accuracy, and large magazine size. It’s actually quite surprising to see the Five-Seven on this list because it’s one of the least popular pistols in CS:GO.

The Case Hardened series comes back again, but it’s for the Five-Seven this time. The “Blue Gem” pattern is pattern 690 with a 0.02 float value for the Five-Seven. Like the Karambit before, the Blue Gem is the most valuable pattern in the Case Hardened series.

The Five-Seven Case Hardened Blue Gem has an approximate value of $6000. But, there’s a Five-Seven pistol out there with four Titan holo stickers that has an approximate value of $35,000, an increase of more than 480%. Sheeesh.

AWP Medusa, Factory New ~$6500

AWP Medusa

Next, we have another AWP skin on our list. The AWP is a valuable and popular gun because of its one-shot capability and the insane plays that you can make with it. A good AWP-er can single-handedly win a match for his team. This is why it’s very important to know the best smoke spots in CS:GO.

The AWP Medusa was added in 2015 together with the rest of the Gods and Monsters collection. It featured the image of the Medusa Gordon, which is a mythical creature with snakes instead of hair that can turn people into stone with just one look. The body of the AWP has a blue paint finish.

A field-tested AWP Medusa costs around $2500. If you’re lucky enough to own a Factory New variant of the skin, you can easily sell it for around $6500. An AWP Medusa with four Titan holo stickers is the 8th most expensive CS:GO skin in the world, bought by YouTuber ProdigyDDK for $128,000.

AK-47 Wild Lotus, Factory New ~$4000

AK-47 Wild Lotus

Since the AK-47 is one of the most popular weapons in the game, it isn’t surprising that we see another one on this list. Most of the expensive weapons skins are usually AK-47s, AWPs, or knives. These make the most sense since people want them more than other weapons.

The Wild Lotus AK-47 features a green base with a floral and blooming design. The gun is covered in an orange lotus spread throughout the gun’s base. Overall, it has a pretty unique and noticeable design and was part of the St. Marc Collection released in 2019.

The Wild Lotus AK-47 is one of the newest skins on this list, but it still has a nice price tag. It’s a relatively rare skin with an estimated $4000 value without any stickers. If you were to put some expensive stickers on this AK, you might be able to easily increase its value up to $10,000 or more.

StatTrak™ Tiger Tooth Butterfly Knife, Factory New ~$2500

Tiger Tooth Butterfly Knife

We’ve finally reached the end of our list. Even though it’s the cheapest skin on the list, it’ll still sting your bank account. The last weapon on our list is a butterfly knife. The butterfly knife is a freely pivoting blade that can be rapidly deployed or concealed when needed. Part of its appeal is your character’s animation when you equip it in-game. The butterfly knife is a highly coveted item, even in Valorant.

The Tiger Tooth Butterfly Knife has a golden-like orange base and has a hand-etched tiger stripe pattern, giving it its name. It was added in 2017 alongside the  Take a trip to the Canals update. The knife can be found within Spectrum and Spectrum 2 cases.

It has an approximate value of $2500 but, there are quite a few listings for around $1500. Even at $1500, it’s still one hell of an investment. Imagine being able to buy a high-end gaming PC by simply selling your Tiger Tooth Butterfly Knife.

And that ends our list for the most expensive CS:GO skins. Skin prices regularly fluctuate, but we’ll try our best to keep this list updated. CS:GO skins have their own economy, and no one can control or predict the price. It’s insane to see how much the different CS:GO skins can sell for. It might be time to check your old Steam account and see if you have any old unopened cases. You never know, you just might unbox a rare item and get some unexpected profit.
