CS:GO skins have been around for a long time. Over the years, numerous skins have been traded in various marketplaces for cash. Some people have even made a ton of money while playing the game by simply selling CS:GO skins.

At this point, it’s no surprise that CS:GO skins can get pretty expensive. But did you know how much they can actually sell for? You might be shocked at how much money people are willing to pay just to get the rarest CS:GO skins in their inventory.

Join us as we take a look at 15 of the most expensive CS:GO skins of all time.

1

Karambit Case Hardened (Blue Gem)

The most expensive CS:GO Weapon skin Karambit Case Hardened.

Condition: Factory New
Price:
$1.2 million – $1.5 million+

Yes, you’ve read that right. A Karambit Case Hardened, Factory New can be worth over $100,000. This extremely rare knife is one of a kind, with a wear rating of 0.0480 and pattern template 387. This specific knife is called the “Blue Gem” because it literally appears completely blue on one side.

The “Blue Gem” Karambit was purchased a few years ago for nearly $100,000. Since then, the value has exploded. Newb Rage, the owner of the knife, reportedly received an offer for well over $1.4M but turned it down. Imagine being offered $1.4M for an in-game skin.

At this point, it’s unclear if the owner has an asking price in mind, or if he actually plans to sell it. Still, $1.4M for a CS:GO skin is by far the most has anyone offered. If the sale ever comes through in the future, it will become the most expensive CS:GO weapon skins to be purchased.

The Souvenir Dragon Lore skin is part of the Cobblestone Collection that was introduced back in 2014. A Souvenir AWP Dragon Lore skin can only be dropped during the Major tournament and was calculated to have around a 0.0004% drop rate.

AK-47 Case Hardened 3rd most expensive csgo skin.

Condition: Factory New
Price:
$100,000 – $150,000+

Next up, we have another Case Hardened skin on our list. We already know the value that a specific Case Hardened pattern can get you. The AK-47 Case Hardened pattern that you have to look out for is the #661 pattern, also known as the “scar pattern.”

The scar pattern is the best pattern you can get on an AK-47 Case Hardened skin. The AK-47 Case Hardened is part of the Arms Deal Collection and could be found in the CS:GO Weapon Case.

Usually, an AK-47 Case Hardened skin in Factory New condition only costs around $180-$190. A StatTrak™ maxes out at about $350. However, if you happen to somehow have the odds on your side and get an AK-47 with the scar pattern, you’re looking at at least $100,000, if not more.

We can’t deny that the skin does look beautiful, though. Its purple and black color combination, matched with a pattern on the palm side, makes it a delight to look at.

The skin was released on November 28, 2016, and is a part of the Brothers In Arms update. It can be found in either a Glove Case or an Operation Hydra Case.

6

Butterfly Knife Crimson Web

The three previous skins have all been 6 digits or more. Finally, we’re toning it down a bit to a still crazy but less expensive $13,000 skin. The Butterfly Knife Crimson Web in Factory New condition costs around $5,200. However, if you ever get your hands on a StatTrak version in Factory New condition, you can get upwards of $13,000 for a single skin.

The Butterfly Knife Crimson Web is from Operation Breakout and was introduced to CS:GO on July 1, 2014. The skin isn’t a part of any collection and can only be found by opening an Operation Breakout Weapon case.

Next up, we have another glove skin on our list. This time it’s the white and green Moto Gloves Spearmint. As the name suggests, the gloves have a minty fresh look, complete with red and black accents all around.

We’re getting into the slightly less expensive but still more than my entire life savings territory. The Moto Gloves Spearmint has listings of around $11,000 to $13,000. However, the Battle-Scarred conditions can be bought at a more reasonable $200 average.

The Moto Gloves Spearmint was released as a part of the Brothers In Arms update on November 28, 2016. It can only be found inside the Glove Case or the Operation Hydra Case. KRIMZ, NiKo, and Maniac are known to own this skin, and it is truly a flex when they wear them in-game.

8

M4A4 Howl

Condition: StatTrak™ Factory New
Price:
$11,000 – $13,000+

The M4A4 Howl in Factory New condition can sell for around $5100. It’s currently one of the most expensive M4A4 skins, especially if you’re looking to get the StatTrak™ FN version which has a current asking price of over $12,000.

It features a custom-painted image of a snarling wolf with a red and black finish all over the gun. It’s part of the Huntsman Collection, released in 2014. A reason why the value is super high is that the original artist issued a DMCA takedown of the skin. Because of this, the skin was only available for a short amount of time.

9

M9 Bayonet Crimson Web

Condition: StatTrak™ Factory New

Next, we have the M9 Bayonet Crimson Web skin. The Crimson Web M9 Bayonet covers the knife in a red base coat with a spider-web pattern and a semi-gloss topcoat.

A Factory New M9 Bayonet Crimson Web knife costs around $5,800. However, there are also some listings that range anywhere from $6,000 all the way up to $7,300. A StatTrak™ version of the knife can cost somewhere between $7,500 to $12,000.

Knives are usually one of the more expensive items in the game. Even Riot Games followed this trend. Valorant knives are worth around double the price of the other available weapon skins.

10

Talon Knife Crimson Web

Condition: StatTrak™ Factory New
Price:
$10,000 – $11,500 +

A Factory New Talon Knife Crimson Web comes at a more “reasonable” $3,000. But a StatTrak version with the same condition almost goes up to x6 its value, currently priced at around $11,500.

The Talon Knife Crimson Web skin was introduced on August 1, 2018, as part of the A New Horizon update. It can be obtained from either a Danger Zone case or a Horizon case. Karrigan and DeadFox are two pro players who are known to own this skin.

11

An image featuring the AWP Gungnir.

Condition: Factory New
Price:
$9,000 – $11,000+

The AWP Gungnir features a beautiful blue and ivory body with Odin’s spear painted on its body. It also features various markings and scriptures from Norse mythology, making it a weapon worthy of the Allfather himself. The AWP Gungnir was released on November 18, 2019, as a part of the Norse Collection.

An AWP Gungnir in Factory New condition has a listing price of around $9,000. The cheapest Battle-Scarred condition will still cost you a hefty sum of $3,900. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a StatTrak™ variant. My guess is that a StatTrak™ FN AWP Gungnir would’ve been somewhere close to $18,000.

12

The Wild Lotus AK-47 is one of the newer skins on this list, but it still has a nice price tag. It’s a relatively rare skin with an estimated $8,000 value without any stickers. If you were to put some expensive stickers on this AK, you might be able to easily increase its value up to $12,000 or more.

The final glove skin on our list of the most expensive CS:GO skins is the Specialist Gloves Crimson Kimono. We’ve already had a couple of crimson skins featured, and they truly offer some beautiful color combinations.

The Specialist Gloves Crimson Kimono is valued at around $6,000 to $7,300, depending on where you look. For something that expensive, I’d take all the time admiring them when throwing a smoke lineup at Dust 2.

Like the other glove skins, it was released on November 28, 2016, together with the Brothers In Arms update. You can find the Specialist Gloves Crimson Kimono skin inside the Glove Case or the Operation Hydra Case.

How is a CS:GO Skin’s Worth Evaluated?

A CS:GO skin’s worth is evaluated based on a few metrics. The price of a skin can change depending on its condition, rarity, and variation. These factors are the main driving force behind the value of a CS:GO skin.

Unlike Valorant skins, CS:GO skins have their own economy that works similarly to ours. The price of something is worth how much people are willing to pay for it. The Law of Supply and Demand is primarily used to determine a skin’s worth.

Excellent skin conditions, exclusive or rare skins, and StatTrak™or Souvenir variations have a limited supply. Because of the limited supply, these skins end up having a higher demand which in turn increases prices.

If there isn’t enough demand for a skin and there are too many available in the market, the prices get lowered until the supply and demand meet at a balanced point.

Here’s a quick summary of how the Law of Supply and Demand works in CS:GO.

  • High supply with low demand = low skin prices
  • High supply with high demand = balanced skin prices
  • Low supply with high demand = high skin prices

Conclusion

And that ends the list of the most expensive CS:GO skins of all time. Were you surprised that the Karambit Case Hardened (Blue Gem) is the most expensive CS:GO weapon skin and can cost more than $1.5 million? Whoever unboxed that literal gem might be the luckiest person on earth.

It’s insane to see how much the different CS:GO skins can sell for. It might be time to check your old Steam account and see if you have any old unopened cases. You never know, you just might unbox a rare item and get some unexpected profit.
