Need for Speed Unbound is an upcoming racing title from Criterion Games, and Electronic Arts. It was revealed today with details about the upcoming game and what it brings to the series, with a new visual style, vehicles, and customization. It’s coming this year to PC, and current-gen consoles, and is already up for pre-order. With the Steam page up, here are the Need for Speed Unbound System Requirements.

Need for Speed Unbound Recommended Requirements
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- Processor: Ryzen 5 3600, Core i7-8700
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: Radeon RX5700 (8GB), GeForce RTX 2070 (8GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 50 GB available space
This is actually quite a big jump compared to the last entry, Need for Speed: Heat. If you’re looking to play at higher settings, you’ll need something like an RTX 2070 with 8 GB of VRAM paired with a Ryzen 5 3600.
Assuming these requirements are targeting 1080p with 60 FPS, it will be interesting to see what the preferred GPU and CPU combination will be ideal for higher resolutions like 1440p, and 4K.
Apart from that, you need a total of 50 GB of free space, and 16 GB of RAM is recommended. If you’re still at 8 GB, we highly recommend you upgrade to 16 GB as most modern PC titles demand that much for a smooth experience.
Need for Speed Unbound PC Features
According to the Steam page, the title has the following PC specific features.
- Compatible with HDR10
- Supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate)
- Supports DLSS rendering technology
- Double the simulation rate of NFS Heat
It’s nice to see more and more titles use DLSS and other upscaling techniques, and we hope to see FSR added to the title along the line.
