With its release date around the corner, players of Need for Speed Unbound are preparing to kickstart their grinding with an established background of the game. Players who own an EA Play membership or a Gamepass membership could have accessed the game as early as the 29th of November. Of course, it was a 10-hour trial, but it’s more than enough to get you zealous about when to start grinding exp.

People who pre-ordered the game can start as early as three days prior to the official release. But we’re not here to talk about the official release. How can you have a good headstart in a racing game without choosing the right car? Well. A poor choice is not going to deny you progress by any means, but it can be harder to progress with a subpar car choice.

Which Starter Car to Choose?

Saying a car’s name will not guarantee a better chance of winning. Firstly, you need to know that your approach affects your choice of which car to begin your career in the game. Since the game’s main focus is street-racing, you’ll possibly require some adjustments in your playstyle if you’re used to a game like Forza Horizon or Gran Turismo.

In this guide, we’ll show you what’s worth considering for each playstyle, and which car is the overall greatest candidate to be the “Need for Speed Unbound best starter car.” Need for Speed Unbound leaves you at the beginning with three choices to kickstart your journey. First is a Lamborghini Countach. The second is a Nissan Silvia. And the third and final choice is a Dodge Charger.

Lamborghini Countach

For Unbound, the best starter car would be the Lamborghini Countach. The car has an acceleration time of four seconds to get to 60 mph, and the top speed of 193 mph, which is unbeatable by any other car.

Supposing you plan on committing to the standard playstyle of playing on the roads. Although the Lamborghini Countach has great road traction and a top speed of almost 193 mph, the acceleration is probably not the greatest in the overall game. It takes about nearly four seconds before reaching 60 mph.

However, you will not want to maintain playing with the Lamborghini Countach for a long time. Since it is a starter choice, it’s possibly the best choice to boost you out of the rags. There are way more promising cars in the advanced stages of the game, although not as cheap. You could have more diverse choices that suit your driving better as you progress.

The Best Starter Drifting Car In NFS Unbound

But this is not everything. Since there’s a huge portion of the community that absolutely loves drifting, I would recommend the Dodge Charger.

Fundamentally, the Dodge Charger is the best drifting car because it has the greatest drift bias of all choices, with an average acceleration time of 4.1 seconds. The Dodge Charger defined itself as a car that will suit challenges more often than the regular straightforward races.

What makes the Dodge Charger more suitable for drifting than the others is the 40% drifting bias with better off-road traction. Nevertheless, the acceleration will take slightly more time than a Lamborghini Countach. Furthermore, the 1969 Dodge Charger has a top speed of 179 mph. Making it the slowest car of all three choices, which doesn’t really cut it against a Lamborghini Countach.

Nissan Silvia

If you’re looking for a balance between the top speed cap and drifting capabilities, you will want to pick the Nissan Silvia. This car is the equilibrium between both ends. It’s a vehicle that can race but not stabilize itself on the normal roads yet still have some off-road traction. The top speed is the highest of all choices, capping at 195 mph.

Nonetheless, the cost of higher top speed comes with knowing that the Nissan Silvia has the slowest acceleration time of all three, accumulating 60 mph of speed over 4.3 seconds. It’s a solid choice to race off-road, but perhaps not the crowned king of the road.

Conclusion

So overall, the Lamborghini Countach is deemed the “Need for Speed Unbound best starter car.” Because of its high speed, optimal acceleration time, and the best road traction of all. It’s worthy of a reminder that you will have to choose your car twice; a car to finish the introduction and an actual car that you will be starting the game with.
