Even though the previous generation version of Cybeprunk 2077 is now aged by a year and a few months, it still works better on the newer generation consoles but in compatibility mode. CDPR has said they are continuing to work on the Cyberpunk 2077 Next-Gen Version, but haven’t shared a release date yet. However, an update to the PSN backend may have changed that.
Cyberpunk 2077 Next-Gen Version Coming Soon?
PlayStation Game Size is a Twitter account that frequently posts content from the backend of the PlayStation database such as video game sizes, but now and then they also upload stuff that gets uploaded quietly. Today’s addition to the PSN database is Cyberpunk 2077’s PS5 Native version.
The new version apparently has a new key art which could help tell them apart. The iconic cover for the original game features a male version of V on the cover facing the camera, but this one features a female version of V with their back facing the camera.
Cyberpunk 2077 is still far from being the perfect product on the PS4 and Xbox One, both the versions are running at 30FPS and still have a lot of performance issues. However, the release of the new generation version will mean that this is the version of the game made for the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.
We still don’t know if the release will take place in February or not, considering how February could also be the potential launch for PlayStation’s Project Spartacus.
We will have to wait for CDPR to issue an update on the state of the next-gen version of the game and see if it is enough to make amends for the people who are eagerly waiting to play the best version of the game possible.
